Because their last 3 batsman will score 220 runs!
Spinners are more than just turning the ball, its about pace and flight variation.
Also Dan Harris (a part-timer) bowled 10 overs.
No wonder none of SA's spinners improve... because they don't get given a go.

Re: REDBACKS - Season Long Thread
true dat
why dan harris is bowling 10 overs is also beyond me. the only time a part timer should ever bowl 10 overs is when the opposition make 450+

well krezja has bowled 21/65 overs, so yes not bowling bailey does seem to be a bit crap

Re: REDBACKS - Season Long Thread
a sporting declaration, which made the Final possible for Tasmania, has given us, pretty much our 3rd win in a row.
Ton to Cossie! Hopefully, he'll be a redback next season.
Choc has surpassed 6000 run, the first SA keeper to make that many in a Shield season. He really should be going on the Ashes tour.

Yeah great season by manou, and he is really putting himself in contention for the ashes tour (although we didnt take a backup keeper last time so we probably wont this time). But he is probably level now with luke ronchi as haddins backup.
btw, its 600 not 6000 runs. although that would be an awesome season.
Klinger finished with over 1200 runs this season, the most ever in a summer by a redback. awesome stuff.

Also it wasn't really a sporting declaration bacon, as they were nine down when they made it.
For us to chase 330 odd on the last day of a game is a fantastic effort really. Excellent end to the season.

Re: REDBACKS - Season Long Thread
Good start for the redbacks so far in their opening game against tassie.
Missing ferg for the season, which is pretty ghey, but means that tom cooper will get an extended crack at state cricket. Good to also see Chris Duval back from Tassie. He will add to our fast bowling and is a handy lower order batter too which means we can bat deeeeep with mark cleary at 10.
We easily got first innings points in this game and had a lead of over 100 after the first digs, with young opener james smith making a ton.
Tassie currently lead by about 30, but we have got 4 wickets already, so this game is set up well for us on the last day. As long as Krezja doesnt go nuts in the last innings we should get the maximum from this one which is a great start to the season.
