Anyone remember roughly how many punters were there (Berri) last time? Was it around 300 or more like 400? if 300 @ $20 gives us a good pot of $6,000 any more only makes a bigger pot to chop up.
With a buyin it will allow NPL to offer a more flexible deal for their efforts and also makes it more attractive for the Venue operator with a lower outlay. Any additional NPL funds from negotiations could spice it up cash wise for additional events for the Friday night and S&G's for those on a Saturday and Sunday who are out of the main tourney.
Knowledge of the location and dates a month in advance would be nice to arrange suitable accommodation. Last time Donna and myself had a 3 bedroom unit. It'd be nice to have time to work something out with family and or friends who may want to spend the weekend away with us.
Hmmm, that's assuming it will be outside of the Metro area. But there seems to be a hint of not being too far so as to keep the NPL costs and logistics closer to town!!!!!!!
So, Garth is it going to be a local or country Big Stack Tourney M8????
Is it on again this year.

Re: Is it on again this year.
i think something like a 10K guarantee would be cool - we buy in for 20, and the venue / NPL put up the rest

I'd be quite happy to play for $6K, if we got 300 people again.
Save the venue having to put up prize money (what was the prize pool last time?? $5K??)

I'm happy knowing people paid $20 to enter
I'm in - I'll be there - pay whatever, hell I'll bank roll anyone else!

AND I won't go out until 5am drinking myself stoopid, to get a knock on the door from Muzz at 7am or whatever it was, to leave.
AND I won't make Muzz stop at Munno Para HJs for me to let out a morning "yawn".

definitely wouldn't complain if there was nothing added to the prize pool either

Would be more than happy to pay $20 for a whole weekend of organised deepstacking madness (hopefully the date doesn't clash with anything this time).

Same here if it's in May, I'm stuffed, because we'll be away for almost the whole month.
Still no answer on it being held at a country or city venue as yet????????
If it's local will it take some of the gloss off of being away and enjoying the weekend at one of our country venues or not????

What does "negotiating price" mean?
Seriously!
I'm sorry if that seems snappish, but when I have answers, players generally have the answers very shortly after that.
Yes we are 80% of the way there to host it at Berri.
Bob some of your recent posts seem to have a negative spin or imply some form of cynicism, what's up with that? Are you becoming jaded with NPL?
But in the end does it matter where a deepstack tournament is held, just as long as we put something special on for players (at considerable costs to NPL).
