Is there anyone going to the main event today with mobile broadband?

Im sure lots of us would love to get some updates on the progress of forum members, especially as it gets down to the business end of proceedings.....

what did everyone think of the partners event last night?

i think it was a joke that players in the regional final got to take there seat in the partners event as well, i saw a few massive stacks being left behind as the regionals was about to start

besides that it was a pretty good night, good to catch up with a few forum members

i came in at 15th, made a pretty good play i thought with a,10 suited but my opponent called my 30k all in raise with dueces and he flopped the set

Why is it a joke?

It's allowed at the WSOP, players have been known to play in 2 tourneys at the same time.

They are paying money for their seat at the tourney. Its their problem if they have to leave a stack behind, not the schedules problem.

i forgot to mention the event was changed to a freeroll last minute so people just turned up to play a few hands knowing they would be leaving for the regional

if it was a buy in tourney like on the NPL WEBSITE, these people would not have played the partners event

Fairly disappointed with last night. My partner and I thought the times for the partners event was 6 for 7 (there was that topic posted earler in the week by Scott, then the mixup on the NPL website...) so we left my place at 5.15, rocked up around 5.50, hoping to get a meal (hadn't eaten all day), but yeah, couldn't, seeing as it started in 10 mins.

Didn't like that players could play both events, either. That should've been mentioned beforehand. Would've preferred a buyin tournament too, I think that play would've been a little bit better. But can't complain too much that it was a freeroll.

What is the issue with player's registered for two events? Any valid argument I will accept, but in reality players can leave their stack to be blinded off in any of our major tournaments, as soon as a table is broken the stack is removed, but in this circumstance players were welcome to have their stack blinded off and their partners play alternative blind levels.

This biggest problem was the miscommunication that players would face elimination from both tournaments if they were caught playing in both. This should not have happened. Stacks blinded out and removed when table is broken. Otherwise it's free blinds and antes for those still seated.

In regards to the conversion to freeroll, that was one big screw up. As players you were lucky the event was not cancelled, the Jones Group decided to not allow any cash buy in events, they decided to relay this to us on Friday, the day before the event. I decided that it would be better to convert this to a freeroll without alerting players to the fact, the thought being that those only wiling to buy into this event would play.

Learning curves and hindsight are a wonderful thing, but the fact that players would be playing in two events was something I had not really put a lot of forethought into. Unfortunately I was away from the venue at this crucial time and a decision was made by the floor staff to only allow players to play one event, something that I would have declared differently.

Next time the scenario will be the same and players will be permitted to play two events at once. The venue will more than likely be the Port Club for the whole champs weekend, which will be freaking awesome, because I am sick of 4 hours sleep each day. 4am finish and 8am starts are not fun!

I appreciate all feedback, and thus far the biggest complaint is not enough transparency in tournament structures and protocols when communicating to players. This was not to be deceptive nor was it intentional. I approached this first champs with a suck and see approach as well as the notion to be very adaptable.

Apart from that I have never seen so much enthusiasm or atmosphere at a poker event as much as I did last night.

I think it has been an exceptional weekend thus far, and remember to thank the TD's and TIM who have worked tirelessly to provide these great events.

These guys bust their humps to deliver the best possible special events that you can experience and rivals that of any major tournament I have experienced.

To me it wasn't so much that they were allowed to play, more so the attitude of those that did.

Sure, players can bet whatever they want, but blatant all in moves, called by another regional player which amounts to J2o vs K8o doesn't make fun playing.

Besides that, I really enjoyed my first partners event, not least of all because I got to play the main event today for finishing on the final table ;)
