hm... there WERE non-thinkers in the last SM I played in (2007 mind you) but having said that the buy-in was $200 + $15 or qual thru one of the bazillion sateliltes they have for it each week. From memory the last Sunday in the month has a larger buy-in so if you can qual for it through one of the satellites you *should* be able to hope for a better field.
But I guess with about 7 thousand runners a few farm animals are going to sneak in.

A persons poker skill does not always relate directly to the size of their bank account

But all's well that ends well. Missing the first hour.... felt like carp afterwards. More concerned about stuffing up the first stake than the lack of chips.
Kept composure, dug in. Built my stack slowly. Very happy with how I played, minus one or two spewy moves (button raise with A8o). And not bad on last hand - great spot to put it in. Double was still under avg, would've been looking to take a flip after that anyway.
Loved the live thing btw, Dave. Always working to improve the forum, well done sir.
No problems about the stake. Shown you have a lot of skill not to mention the temperament to go well with it. Was worried when you first got to the table that you were going to try and double early and bust. But as i said take your time and build it slowly.
Plus never be scared of a backer. The main reason is they are gambling on you to do good. If you don't then thats the risk they are taking. As i said 60:40 means i valued your skills more than you did.
GL 2moro in the heads up i am sleeping in.

Higher stakes = richer idiots!
Riskers gamble, experts calculate.
