(without hearing more information about the hand) I'd prob snap AK there, but that's just me. *shrug*

Caz, seems to me you think its bad play on your part when you run AK into AA. Nothing can be done about that, its completely standard. No need to feel bad at all buddy :)

The only thing I'd say to that is, if nevah put pseft on low pockets, she was obviously prepared to go into the hand behind.... hence the question about how many BBs left.

Rcon your right, I did have him on small pockets... I also thought he had been trying to push us around to steal the antes and blinds.
He played me perfectly.

Neither of us were that short stacked, I had less by about $1,000 and Pseft had $14,000. The antes were killing us.. :o

I guess it was just you never like the hand you go out on, but I was happy to get knocked out by a well played hand rather than being part of a bad beat.

Thanks for the help all.. :D

i dont like people saying the Ante's were killing us

its the same for everybody, u win a hand u clean up the tables antes and that gives u a few rounds of free antes

Agreed.

The only time antes killed me was on Friday when it took a minute to get the blinds and antes sorted. Then people took forever to make decisions, and even longer to sort out pots.

I think we had a total of 2 hands in the 1000-2000 level.
We've how about links I would like to know I walk the line scrunches line at how the client Lawrence etc. etc.

Your trouble with that Caz, is that half(?) the beauty of AK/AQ is in its fold equity - unfortunately you have none in this hand, as pseft is already all-in, and won't be folding. You are deliberately placing your tournament life on the line when you suspect you're behind. At best (for you), pseft has AT/AJ/AQ, not particularly likely.

If you've only got a couple (3 or 4) orbits of the table before being blinded out, calling here seems ok, but if you had any more than that, I personally would have waited.

antes just mean you have to make a move sooner

try shoving with ATC in a limped pot when your stack is still big and you are on the button, and you will hopefully get all folds and you will add to your stack nicely.

when there is lots of dead money from blinds and antes in the middle, the fold equity of your whole stack is just about the most important thing

Yeah, you need to shove on marginal holdings when you're getting short, take a few blinds. Otherwise when you shove it in with AJ+, 99+, you have no fold equity and are more likely to lose.
