Cash buy in events to commence in Season 2!

Well I tried my first CBI on sun night at checkers and I have to say I honestly wasnt that impressed. I liked the structure and the format as set out at professional tourneys but.....

It cost me:

$10 + $3 equipment hire just to sign in

Plus I stamped up my cards which cost me and additional $27.....So now I have spent $40 in the venue

We didnt have that many runners (30 I think?) but the first cash prize was only $60. Now tell me is it worth me spending $40 to gain an additional $20?

I know that its not compulsory to stamp up the cards but I guess if you really wanna do any good at these games you have to stamp up as you will be at a massive disadvantage (you get 6000 in chips in total if you use your second card at the break)

Honestly, I could play 20 $2 cash tourneys online or play in cash games at the casino and my chances of winning decent amounts of cash in those tourneys are much more than in the NPL CBI. Furthermore, I cold play a freeroll NPL event and wish $100 cash at certain venues and spend less to stamp up......thus what is my incentive to play CBI?

All im asking is that maybe NPL should think about putting up the incentive to win greater cash prizes at these events in order to attract more players?

find a person you think is very likely to do well then give them the ticket with the expectation of taking a percentage of the winnings

Its not NPL's fault you chose to play at a venue with a high stamping policy. Converserly, if you played at a venue that stamped you up for 1 or even 2 drinks, that's $20 spent, for $40 profit. If you don't like the high prices ($27 is way too much for both cards) then play somewhere else.

This is nothing new. Many online sites run $10,000 gtd events for $11, $3k gtd for $3.30 daily. If you want to make cash, play online. If you want to have fun and maybe make some extra money for the week, play NPL.

With $50 being removed for the deepstack event, the payout structure pays pretty evenly. Besides, they'd be saving the big money for special, end of season events.

Nice post there GF, and an honest appraisal (the act of estimating or judging the nature or value of something or someone) of your thoughts.

I don't think your on your own but then again very few will air their opinions on an open forum. Not that my opinion means anything but I have to agree with you on the $3 fee for equipment hire and the Flight card system as being a stinker and have said so from the very beginning.

So, at the moment I'm in limbo as to play or not to play at my chosen venue which is now a CBI venue. Around the 4th week into the season there was a rumour they were going to be a CBI venue. I should have realised it was true because for the very first time there was a sign with "$4 per stamp" stuck to wall near the cash register!!!!!!

I suppose they had to see if they could not only cover the additional costs for a CBI event but also gauge the response from the players. Not too sure if I'll make it tonite either as I'm still having some problems with my eyes. Plus, come Monday I'm off for 3 weeks of Pokering along the east coast so I need all my DOOOLAAAAAHHHHHSSSSS.

It really isn't MUCH of a difference.

Besides, it's been expensive to play there anyway.
