Yay.

lol.

bennymacca wrote:so really, raising on the flop was your mistake. it allowed me to value shove with all of my strong hands, or bluff/semibluff as well as that board was pretty scary for anything but the made straight or top set. this put you in a super tough spot because you aren't sure if you are good any more.

It put me in a better spot than I would've been on the turn (Kh, we ran the board). As we said, I was getting in it on the turn. It would've been a $24 pot if you flat my $12 raise, and I have $18 behind. I am definitely probably just open shoving (first to act), you're snapping and I lose. I can fold after a re-raise on the flop.

You're not bluffing/semi bluffing that often, if all, on that flop after my $12 raise. We're both thinking players, and we both know that we know that. You know I have a better hand than top pair, (excluding A8dd). So what are you getting it in with on that flop? When you think about it, sets and 57. Prob two pair as well. And if you are bluffing (which I think you do almost never) good luck.

true.

when u break it down, you are really either flipping against the OESFSD, or you are running into a set or a straight. the only thing you are smashing is a lower 2 pair and maybe at a stretch aces.

the only thing i might have semi-bluffed with would have been pair plus NFD, but thats a smaller part of my range there, and i didn't think i had much fold equity against all of your raising range on that flop (i guess i was a bit wrong there)

so yeah great laydown

i dont believe it a 22 post thread discussing the merits of folding--

I think i would have thought about it, then called.

But then again, you are better than me AK. It was a great fold.

thread padding is alive and well ;)

an open public forum should be able to take all views and opinions submitted. theres more than one way to play pocket Aces or even JJ

here's a thought/thread starter.....

Question is there ever a sitituation where folding the winning[ possible winning hand ] should be undertaken ?? could it be used as a table image building stratergy ??

your comments R welcome....

i can relate a hand where I folded AJ on a FT in a four player hand and subsquently went on to win a trip/package to Sydney[ but benny the cunt has advise that my description of hands played would be better left unpsoted on this forummmmm... :geek:

I heard a story once of Phil Ivey folding the winning hand at showdown because he wanted to assert his table image. This was when he was first getting started.

Folding down for packages/satelittes is nothing new.

well done bruce, you have asked a proper question instead of just coming on here and talking carp

i think thats a tough one really. if you are super deep at the start of the tourney, then i think it might be a good thing to let go of a hand where you bluffed and then back into a straight or something when there has been no action.

also as aaron said, folding down for satellites or packages happens a lot.

interesting question
