Sorry. Should have been clearer. Its visa that will charge me to convert from AUD to USD not the site. But it looks like I'll have to suck it up.

Thanks

So they charge a conversion fee on CC is this a seperate charge or built in to the purchase?

I checked my statement and I have never been hit with one. I might have to look into this more closely.

Scott,

Happened to u?

I've never ever seen a conversion fee.

Besides, even if they DO charge you in AUD, there HAS to be a conversion done somewhere. They can't actually use AUD.

Not as far as I've seen. I deposited via CC too on 888.

The only time I've been slugged conversion fees is through my Neteller debit card, which had to convert from US to Canadian to AUD at the ATM. So ridiculous.

Yeah sites such as Neteller and Moneybookers (both online wallet thingies) will often charge a conversion fee for certain things.

Uploading funds to a poker site from your credit card (even if it's Visa debit, ie: linked to a savings account) don't incur any conversion fees.

There is simply a bigger number showing up in your statement which is purely from actually converting AUD into USD. There is not a fee for that conversion though.

Example:

Uploading 30.00 USD into 888 will then mean on your bank/credit card statement there's a number larger than 30.00 AUD because AUD are worth less than USD and obviously that difference has to be made up.

Definitely not a fee for that.
Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

whilst there might not be a fee as such, they don't have to use the official exchange rate ;-)
