rcon wrote:you sure it is actually a *rule*? I seem to remember Garth on here rebutting people when they complained about being moved from UTG+2, to BB (or something similar). His response was that NPL were *overly* good in moving people to the exact same spot, and in the big MTTs you could not expect anything similar.

Boils down to, they'll strive to move you to similar positions, don't count on it.

Yeah, Im pretty sure its a rule that no player should have to post the BB twice in a row...

Have also read on Caro's site, he doesnt like (and I agree) with the 'dead dealer' rule...
that gives the same player the button twice in a row, better to have someone skip a SB than give someone the button twice in a row (as they say position IS power in Holdem!)

Normally I thought a player moved into a pos where he would need to post a BB earlier than if they hadnt been moved, they would sit out until the button had passed them... OR post a 'dead' BB to get dealt in... (like in ring games)

Clarification? I always assumed it was a rule, but I'm not 100% sure whether it actually is.

It depends. At 888pl games, the Captains try to put you in same position as you were in on your own table. Sometimes you have to miss a few hands for the button to pass before you can play. Sometimes you go from BTN to UTG, because its the only position they have available. It sucks. But it happens.

You'll never post a "dead" BB in a STT/MTT to be dealt in early.

I confirm.

[Button] - [Open Seat] - [SB] - [BB] - rest of table

then next hand

[Cutoff] - [Dead Button] - [SB] - [BB] - rest of table

Yeah, that was a dumb thing to say, I know tourneys don't work like that!

No response from 888.com as yet.... (3 days!)
I assume you also contacted them Aces?

I didn't have the hand history off hand, as you did, so I didn't bother. Still might be worth an effort though.

You dont save your hand histories?

Yeah, Id say its worth an email. The more ppl who report these things might hopefully speed up a resolution?

Official 888 reply: (My thought responses in red)

Dear Aaron

Greetings?

Didnt realize this word was a question?

Thank you for your email.

Yes in a one-table only tournament, placing same blind twice can never
happen ? you are right.

For a multi-table tournaments, the below may happen: Player on big blind
and dealer button on empty seat to their right, by the time that round
has finished the empty seat is filled by another player, the dealer
button stays on the same seat and that player pays big blind again.

Dealer was NOT on an empty seat!

I am terribly sorry. I totally understand how you feel as it has
happened to me before when I had to repeat the blinds in a multi-table
offline tournament.

Are you for real? in a live tourney u posted BB 2x???

If you allow me to share with you my view: It in a way evens out over
time because the times that we do not need to pay the blinds while we
are supposed to, than we as players do not normally remember those
moments. Having said that, I can share with you that our technicians
have this in their hands and they are working on it to see if this can
be changed/fixed.

You're right, I can never remember skipping a blind, because I haven't! THAT I KNOW is against official Holdem Tournament rules!
And if you aim to recrify this, then you agree its WRONG so why are you trying to justify it? , and justify it based on ANOTHER error in your software?

I can see that you have played in this tournament with the 888PL Grand
Final Freeroll, it is a multi-table tournament, thank you for providing
all the details.

I hope that I have explained this and please understand that we will not
be able to refund for this reason as this happens to almost anybody on
our sit if one plays long time in multi-table tournaments. We aim to
rectify it in the future to avoid blind repeating in multi-tables. Once
again I am sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Why (How) would you refund a freeroll?

I can see since you joined, you have deposited in total around $23 and I
can see that you have more than doubled your money. I take this
opportunity to congratulate yon on your winning.

More like quintupled you mean! And frankly thats the only thing that keeps me playing here (and 888PL events)

On another note, please remember to invite those friends who enjoy
gaming to our site, the more you invite, the more bonuses you can get-
$50 in total for you for EACH friend you invite and your friend will get
$25/each (terms apply).
