Here is a list of which teams would go into which pot for the World Cup group draw. The groups will consist of 4 teams each and are labelled A through to H.
This list has nothing to do with who has actually qualified yet, it's just showing which pots teams will be drawn from when they see who goes into which group for the World Cup itself.
It has been worked out from either a) how well those teams have done in the previous World Cup from within their own regions (including the qualifying process) or b) directly from the FIFA rankings. Example: Australia did the best out of any Asian nation in the last World Cup AND are the highest ranked Asian nation so quite naturally we are ranked number 1 in Asia for this draw and that will put us in pot A. Japan also made pot A, as did South Korea but North Korea are in pot B. Because those 4 teams have all already qualified we now know some of the teams in some of the pots.
Bahrain and Saudi Arabia are the 2 teams left to fight it out for the last Asian spot available - one of them will have to play New Zealand, most likely.
Bahrain should they qualify would go into pot B.
Saudi Arabia should they qualify would go into pot A.
New Zealand should they qualify would go into pot "I don't know because it's not listed". Will have to wait and see for that one.

Re: 2010 Football World Cup
As soon as I can find which groups are drawn from which pots I'll post it here.
One thing is known already and that is South Africa, being the host nation, have already qualified and will be in Group A.

Do people think we will make the 2014 world cup? Our best players will be gone by then and our U21 results have been pretty poor lately.
