Shocking beat on 888

Postby Torak » Sat Jun 20, 2009 2:49 am

Okay background, 1500 runner, 5 remaining
blinds 32000/16000
UTG(me) - 550000
+1 - 650000
Dealer - 600000
SB - 40000
BB - 250000

Dealt K 10 off and raise to 64k, all call bar small blind

flop - 6d, 10s, Ks
bet 110k
+1 Raise to 220k
I jam and he calls, Flip Kh, 9s
Turn - 2s
River - 3s

I would have been dominating chip leader and felt comfortable enough with the reads i had on the others, that i think i would have won.

That's pretty sucky.

Next time, raise more preflop. At least 90k. And if you don't want to b/f like that, then just muck it pre.

For 1500 runners that would've been a good cash, how much did you collect?

Not a huge amount, but put it on BJ and hit 3 straight BJ. so made more anyway, or atleast close to.

I would have played it the same again, as most good players wouldn't call with a k9 off.

Only with the SB or BB stack would I not call K9 to a min-raise 5 handed.
Agree with Aces... too soft preflop...
Image ...11.59% of bad beat stories are just misplayed hands ...

You should never be minraising, ever. I'd be calling from the Button, SB and BB this hand.
