I'd go in for the BB price but if someone raised before me then I would fold.
Please note that I am NOT the World Champ, Australian Champ, SA champ or even the Adelaide Hills champ so any advice I give must be taken with tonne of salt :P

Phantom in this situation AK was UTG (under the gun) which means he was first to act in the hand.

Personally I would have gone in then but if anyone raised then I would have bailed. But please note my sig :lol:

Damn, I thought this was a pretty clear ship in. 10bbs, ya know. 10BB tournament rule. Yeah, obv shipped it in, into AKo. I flop a flush draw and lose.

At what point are we shoving this UTG? <5BBs?

Well you shove UTG whenever you have good enough holdings for it.

In this situation you are open shoving way out of position with 8 high. What's the average stack, where are you in the rankings and how long till the money?

I would personally wait for a better position. You fold out BB and SB you are left with 8.5BB in position which is slightly more advantageous than open shoving a complete 10BB stack out of position.
