fair enough
what about this one.
how many weeks to go in the season?
maybe in future, the games required to generate an average should be increased. i.e from 15 to 30. in a 15 week season. that still only means 1 live event and 1 home event per week, which is still really low.
i play approx 10 home games a week, and 1 away game. some people are playing 30 games a week, which is going to total 450 games in a season! for only 15 averages to play is fairly small.
what are your thoughts on increasing the qualification games so that 2 or even 3 games a week is required?

I think benny the cunt is onto something there. Increasing to average of best 30 or even 50 would mean that a single win in a large field would help your average but not as much as if it were 15 best scores.

No, absolutely not.
Huge win, very awesome indeed. Also only relative to THAT tournament and nothing else.
Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

How is it only relative to that tournament?
So any individual tournament win is only relative to that tournament and nothing else?
Results only matter if is a regular event that contributes to a leader board?
So consistent performance is the only thing that should be rewarded?
And under this point scheme; consistent performance can be an illusion when a player commits to a mass volume of games. Therefore you do not have to be a consistent performer to win but just have 15 decent finishes. I am not denying it is a flawed system, but any simple system we arrive at will be.
It is about individual performance and a weighting must be applied, the system lends itself to online play right now. I am thinking of offering a points multiplier to live events to equalise this problem.
I am also considering measuring the results of all 888PL players across all Tournaments that we have 888PL players participating in. As all of these results should be recorded in historical data as well as contribute to their Score board standings, we may even extend this to include players participating, as 888PL players, in casino events or significant online events.

This sounds like a good idea. Would you have to wear 888pl gear in live events or something?

The answer to that would be yes.

Garth:
Scoreboards for a season are one thing. The whole point of keeping a scoreboard is to see who has done the best overall by end of season. Consistently doing well duly gets rewarded. Doing well once should not.
One off tourneys should never be part of that same scoreboard. However, doing well in such a tourney should of course still be rewarded, just not lost sight of the fact that it was still a one-off tourney. It should not be lumped in with other events of a dissimilar nature.
If there was a series of largeish, one-off tourneys then that could be called a circuit (for example) and there would be a different scoreboard for that particular circuit. It's still like for like.
That's more akin to what my interpretation is of what a Dream Team scoreboard should reflect. If there were say 10 large events per calendar year then whoever has done the best overall in just those events would most definitely have an extremely good claim to fame, disputed by none.
Current Dream Team scoreboard format has a mixture of regular season and large events (if GF qualifiers etc are included) and therefore isn't really showing anything IMO.
Individual recognition for individual tourneys is also well deserved and should not be overlooked. It just does not mean that suddenly that player is a gun in a different category.
I very much like your idea of assigning points to things like casino events etc. In fact, I like a LOT of your ideas. I just extremely dislike things deliberately appearing as something they are not.
