Biggest suck out(s) in history....

Postby AceLosesKing » Thu Jan 31, 2008 12:47 am

Alrighty, here goes.

Final hand before the break I'm sitting with 7,000. Long story short, I lose all but 1,500 of it.

Small blind first hand back. Down to 1,000. 21 runners left.

Dealt [kc] [5c]

All in. Hit the flush on the river.

Up to 5,000.

A few hands later, all in (14 runners left) on [as] [8s] facing [kh] [jh]. Hit the Ace.

10,000.

Three hands later, call the 4000 BB on [ad] [10h]. [ah] [9d] raises all in for 10,000. I call. Hit the 10.

24,000. Final table.

Draw the 3, big blind. Dealt [2c] [7h]. Checked, heads up, all the way to the river. Hit the [2h] on the river. Won a small pot.

My only good hand on the final table: [8c] [9h]

Flop: [as] [9s] [8h]. Doughy goes all in on a flush draw, I call. My two pair holds up.

65,000. 7 left.

Zack's knocked out, finishes 7th.

I'm big blind, 6,000. Dealt [qh] [9d]. Player goes all in on [as] [jd]. Only another 5,000 for me, so I obviously call.

Flop: [10h] [8h] [7d] [5h] [ah].

95,000. 4 left. Russel and Brian all in. I hit runner runner, straight, knock em both out. Its now heads up.

Small blind raises all in for 20,000. I call another 10g.

He turns over [as] [2d]

I've got [9h] [2c]

Flop: X, X, X, X, [9d].

And with that, I win my second NPL tournament. It ain't over till you're out of chips, people.

I'm still in shock.

Try to keep it short --

BB on 500 /1000 blinds
holding 3000 chips short stack

with 20 players left, trying for the points with two players below my pts total trying to take me down at the table .

dealt [10s] [10c]

two players call 1000
I check to see the flop
flop is [4d] [qc] [8s]

1 caller folds,
2nd caller raises 2000 she has 4000/5000 chips

contemplates fold fearing she has hit a queen

throws 2000 "allin "

caller flops my worst fear !!

[qd] [10d]

turns a [8c]

still hope !!

needs the only 10.

Rivers

yes the [10h]

Biggest suck out in Recent memory against -

"Schmack Npl " team leader / my local venue niemis

DARNNY............could not have happened at a nicer time and to a nicer person.

takes the chips , makes the points, finishes 11th.

AHHHH !!!...
the Joy of a Win far out weighs the pain of defeat !!

I do love a WIN with TRIPS especially over Darnny !!!

That's a nice suckout Bruce. Hitting the only 10? Lucky... very lucky ;)

You didn't think about raising all in with the 10s preflop?

Todd: You'll get it one day mate.

---JUST BRIEFLY!!

go for the points...crosses my mind often
Lucky yes.--
this is coming from the guy who has folded ' pocket aces ' and saved chips as they would not have held up to win !!
;) ;) ;)

Yes Bruce well done on another great suck out.

But its just a well known fact in the B&G region that you fold hands to make points.

You would normally have folded that close to points any other time. Folded pocket Aces on big blind lately  ........

Your good luck charm should be a fish not a frog.

I wonder what would happen if you actually played for the cards rather than for the points.

Biggest suck out in Recent memory - i dont think so cause you do it everytime.

Always a pleaseure to not play at your table......

:P :P :P :P :P :P :P

Well, I don't want to go overboard again here (Shannon didn't seem to like my novel above :(), but I managed to suck out again tonight.

Started at the final table with 4000 (lowest stack was 3000). Drew the 4, so it was this hand or next (blinds 2000/4000). Folded the first hand, went blind next.

The board: K, Q, 7, Q K.

I turned over a goddamn King. :D

Few hands later called with QJ, hit the Q on the flop, all in. Tripled up. Now sitting with 42,000.

Long story short, I finished 3rd. I tell ya, my average at the Willaston will be 40 or something now, from 9 games (Sunday and Wednesday), I've finished in the points 6 times (5 of them final tables).
