more importantly though, whenever garth tries to help you on your game, listen. he is easily the best poker player on this forum (dont question this, he just is)
I question everything... Ever since my first year at Uni, I would rarely even just take 'facts' lectured on without knowing the reason(ing) behind them. I mainly do this to get a more indepth understanding of the subject matter.
even before i met garth personally, he was telling me i was playing like a laggy cash game tard and basically spewing away chips. (hence the whole bennyjam thing)
Well, I am generally +EV one inregard to how much my BR has grown, particularly over the latter parts of my playing 'career'. In all games I play, large MTTs, 6max ring games and HU SnGs. And while I agree with Garth that overall result arent the best measure, it is important of me to profit from poker while still working on holes in my game
my stats looked a lot like yours - too many limps, too many raises out of position, not enough raises in position
The stats I posted can hardly tell you anything like this. i included nothing that was positionally based.
take what he says on board, it will only help your game.
I take everything onboard. Wether I keep it or not is another thing entirely. But honestly to say that it can ONLY help is a tall order. Depending on personal style some advice can be counter productive.
I agree Garth always writes with knowledge and confidence in his knowledge, but there are many styles and a single person has a hard enough time mastering one, let alone enough to be able to help everyone with every piece of advice they give
Given that, i dont even take poker tips or strategy written by Millionaire Pros as gospel, I am not going to with anyone on this forum, best player or not. As I have said here and in other scattered posts, I DO take onboard what people say, but that doesnt mean I have to agree with it or keep it for life. My goal is to incorporate things that enhance and develop my own style. Some of the things posted on these forums has donw that, some have not.
Garth, some of the description you wrote is spot on, but some is way off... No time to go into more detail now, 1/2 hr before reg of my local away game

I do appreciate, as I said above, yours and anyone elses input, some of it I keep, some I discard, but never before giving it due thought. I question EVERYTHING, even my own ideas. How better to learn?
I don't consider either of the late home games turbos unless you are comparing them to multi-day events. Even the structure of the PokerStars Sunday Millions is only 15 minute levels, and actually the blinds increase faster than these 888 tourneys, and antes are introduced in level 7 to boot, you just start with 10K instread of 2 or 3...
