Just put together a nice excel where dumb dumbs can just insert number of players and place. Much like the widget on the right hand column of this fourm.

I don't think I've ever FT'd a live special 888pl event :P Its hard.

There's no pot button.

Haha so true! And what about calculating stack sizes - just so messy.

the people that are too dumb to work how many points they are getting dont care about points anyway.

for the rest of us, an excel spreadsheet would do fine

BigPete33 wrote:This is straight off the top of my head, but how about if we impose a limit for points on the field sizes with respect to each event type (same as what you suggested for the big events but obviously a different number) and THEN do the weighting. I'm making the assumption that there would probably be different limits for each event type. This method might allow you to not have to adjust it any time soon.

This is obv a perfect system for points/leaderboard. This way, everything is fair and predertermined. Everyone will know what big events to play, everyone has the same chance of winning, because the same reward system is awarded.

It will of course, never work. Capping numbers for live games is dumb (would have to cap at like 50, and most places won't even hit 40). So where do you draw the line?

With this system we may as well set points value on finishing positions rather than weight according to field size.

Yeah - not the better system. My post was assuming all field sizes reach their cap, every game.

The best system is to work out who you want in the big finals, and work backwards to see how they can qualify :)

Online Freeroll = 1x multiplier
Online Cash Games = 3x Mutliplier
In Venue Cash Games = 3 x Multiplier
In Venue Freeroll = 2 X multiplier

Thoughts on this system?

So if I understand correctly a person who finishes first in a 200 runner online freeroll will get the same amount of points as a person who finished first in an in venue game with 60 runners?

1st Place @ 60 runners = 100*3 +10

Seems a little unfair to me that someone who has beat 200 players will get as much as someone who has beat only 60.

No system will be fair, especially when you have a business involved that derives it's income from venue attendance.

So obviously we would weight the competition towards live play or at least a bonus of some sort. These players are spending money on a free roll in venue whilst a free roll online doesn't cost a cent.
