No, the difference would be HU vs not HU.

K8 is a huge hand HU.
Not so much when you're on a 5 handed table, facing a 3.5BB raise from the small blind.

No it was more the case benny the cunt's commnts in the chat box questioned why I called or even considered playing K/8.
And with a statement like well there was a picture card in your hand didnt help either.
From a stack of almost 76000 and already posted a BB of 2000 the additional 4.5k to see a flop was not that big of a cost. I hit so I'm gunna see the next card.
The rest is history, and I suppose to beat the last NPL champion makes the win a bit sweeter.

That's a bit harsh benny the cunt.
You can't complain someone won't understand and then not attempt to help them understand.
Would you rather he kept calling raises with K8 ? (Actually you probably would but you know where I'm coming from here).

Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

+1 to what benny the cunt said.
Gundog,
Do you want a serious answer that you will try to understand and assimilate before you respond with the catch phrase of all fishes: "But I beat him didn't I?", "I won didn't I?", "But who has the chips now?". Because last time we discussed a hand you posted in a Hand Discussion thread you got your back up when you were told by quite a few, myself included, how terribly bad you played a hand.
I don't think you would enjoy a true serious response to these two hands as they highlight some terrible play and your inability to comprehend any basic poker strategy/thought process beyond Level 1. And to be quite honest I agree with Krunchie's sentiments another "subtle as a hammer" brag post.
But if you truly want to expand your skill set and turn yourself into a good player then we will help you by discussing the differences in between hands and what you are doing wrong and areas you fail to comprehend.

Oops wrong quote before replaced with right one
ALK wrote
Is my maths wrong or is ALK's math is a little out a 3.5x the BB = 7000 (2000 x 3.5 = 7000) so a 3.5xBB + SB = 8000, benny the cunt raised to a total of 6500.
As I previously stated the additional 4500 which was around 16% of my stack to call benny the cunt is not too much to see a flop.
With the other player folding it effectively became HU for that hand.
Well what did I do wrong in the first hand ?
