Sliders

Postby todd182 » Mon Jul 20, 2009 11:02 pm

anyone remember this show around 1996-98 starring a young jerry o'connell and John Ryhs Davis AKA gimli (sorry if spelt wrong) from lord of the rings. sliding from world to world running into troble everywhere they go.

i brought the 3 season boxset for $20 and it was money well spent, it's gold, very cheesy but oh so watchable. anyone have any idea how many seasons they made? i assuming they stop at 3 for the boxset to make sense, but i hope i'm wrong.

Yes, used to love this show. Haven't seen it in years, but I'd love to pick up the old seasons. Where did you get it from, JB?

I think it was 6 in total, maybe even 7... after Jerry left the show (the main character) i am pretty Jerry's real life brother took over the role, he was already in the show as a supporting main character.

It was a pritty good show. It was like quantum leap meets stargate and all they want to do is go home. Series did kinda die in the ass though but started out and ran really well for a while.

I remember one episode from Season 1 I think it was.

Parallel earth. Virus wipes out nearly all Male humans. The remaining ones are used simply for breeding. 2 countries emerge as superpowers fighting for world domination (lead by women of course)

Good guys = America
Bad Guys = Australia. I kid you not.

It was hilarious.

A male gets captured by the Australians (American with really bad accent) and is fed Vegemite to increase his fertility! :o 8-)

I have it on DVD somewhere.....

I used to love this show when it first started, but it got on my nerves after a while, mainly because they always ended up in a bad situation.
Just once I'd like to see an episode with nothing sinister in it, and they are just having a good time, but at the end make the jump, with no struggle to get there, no one stealing the remote, just an"OK well this has been swell guys, but we need to get home, time to go."
they used to end alot of episodes where they end up somewhere cool, but the beginning of the next episode that lasted for about 3 minutes and they were beamed off somewhere else.
Still I wouldn't mind watching the first season at least.
