And the only reason I posted that I was told this rule from an 888PL staff member, was because this made it the second time in a month a rule came up and a staff member got it wrong. So to bring this to the attention of senior staff member who might be able to make sure that staff know all the rules of tournament poker, not as you all seem to think, to absolve myself from posting the wrong answer to begin with!

my source was my own poker knowledge - not sure where i picked it up, but thats what i thought the ruling was.

Would you say this if Garth had have posted on a ruling differing from the other posts?
And I was sure of the rule, until I was then (mis)corrected, at an 888Pl event.
So, the fact that I listened and took on board what i was told, but didnt agree with to begin with, indicates that unlike you claim benny the cunt, I DO listen and take on board things said by others!

As I said, i had just had an 888PL staff member explain the rule to me, as i explained it on the forum, so at the time of posting I was sure of what I was posting. If you notice in other threads, I have indicated when i was not 100% certain of what I was saying...

yeah this one came up a few weeks ago at my venue. i used to agree with you guys but was corrected by a TA and apparently you do need to call the 400, at least thats what i was told. good discussion

NO, a call here is for 400, as that is the minumum legal bet, unless the fisrst caller himself/herself had less than 400....

A legal raise pre or post flop is always the amount of the previous bet, in this case the BB, so a legal raise is 400. if allin player only had 600, any callers must still put in 400...

If there is only one caller, then they get 200 in change back...

Think: min bet to begin with is the BB? just cos a player cant meet that doesnt change anything, min bet/call is BB, minraise is 2x BB

Compare these two carefully. One is sensible and a nice way to put your point across. The other makes you sound like an arrogant know-all.
