Your Nemesis

Postby shark » Tue Feb 12, 2008 9:24 am

Do you have a Nemesis at the poker table and does it affect your betting patterns when they are involved in a hand? How do you get past the advantage they have over you?

Last night when playing, everytime that I ended up in a pot with another player he would suck out and I would lose a heap of chips. After this happening all night I started avoiding him and he had a huge advantage over me. He isn't even a good player because he would then distribute his winnings amongst the other players until his next suckout.

So can you fight luck or do you ride it out til some-one else knocks them out?

So your only nemesis is someone who can't play ??
Surely you have a nemesis who can!

The example I gave was last night only. I don't normally have a problem against him but last night the cards just all fell his way when we were both involved. It was a short term advantage he had, but the question is would that affect your betting against him on the particular night.

But if you knew me you wouldn't be scared so we better keep it the way it is.

btw I ended up avoiding said player until some-one else knocked him out and then got rivered by another player. I think there is a lesson in that somewhere.

My nemesis: Justin Daniels.

My best friend. And I hate him.

He can play, but he seems to give me the worst luck. Every time I sit with him I always go bad (and its hardly ever due to him taking my chips - he's never knocked me out). He's just bad luck for me. I've made final table every week on Wednesday at the Willo except the week he turned up. Sunday night I sat next to him and I had one of my worst games ever - out so early I made the bad beats.

I dont have a nemesis

But i know i am a nemesis of a few players
During the teams event i was last to sit down and the person was there
He's comment was OH NO when i sat down
Immediately i had the advantage on the table and it wasnt long before i busted the person and sent them packing
I finished second beaten by quad As
Outside i was speaking to the winner of our table who i have never met before this event and he told me he was immediately worried about me as soon as he heard the comment

My nemesis is easily identifiable.....if it is not myself, it is that little innocuous pile of 52 green cards and 1 white cut card, and the worst part is... I CAN'T ESCAPE THEM AT THE TABLE!!
