or like that year mcleod missed the brownlow because he didnt get a single vote in a 38 possession game in perth because we lost by a few points

Steve, just so you know, The Crows lost that game by 37 points.
Peter Bell had 44 possessions and 3 goals
Adrian Fletcher had 33 possessions and 1 goal
Heath Black had 32 possessions and 2 goal
Macca had 37 possessions and 1 goal in a side that lost by over 6 goals.
Was unlucky not to poll but it wasn't dodgy.

I knew the year and round you meant, and I knew that Peter Bell had 44 possessions, and I knew Fletcher and Black got the votes and both had over 30 touches.
I looked it up the next day after watching the Brownlow to find out how he didn't get even 1 vote...
Although he needed 2 to tie and 3 to win (over Akermanis) anyway.. and with Bell getting 44 and the Crows losing by 6 goals, he was never going to get 3.
