Im not sure I understand this. Their range is their range isnt it. So isnt it better to make the optimal play for the entire range?

If your targeting part of their range arnt you just narrowing it down?

You definitely have a range of hands from an UTG limp caller, and even though we have no information on this opponent we have to decide on his most likely range. I believe the limp call range is indicative of a pocket pair or KTs+ KJos+. The flush draw is an option but in my opinion only formulates a small percentage of his range from his play.

Also the limited knowledge of opponents is a two way street, villain has as much info on the hero as the hero does on him. In a blind hand I don't believe the villain is raising on a flush draw here, unless he is extremely loose agro.

What's the optimal play for the entire range in this hand? You shove the flop. I am discussing other options for a hand of this nature, with different stacks as well as more information on opponents.

I think Trishan can post his result now.

Not much more discussion can be had on this particular hand.

if you knew that he had a flush draw, would you check and let him take off a free card? i dont think you would.

however, if you knew he had 99 or a weak king, you would most definitely check and let him take the lead, to make him think his pair is good.

with no reads, it is hard to say which of these hands he has, but based on what a general player at these stakes would do, or even down to the maths of hand combinations, you can try to play as if he had this narrower range.

i may be rambling now, but i hope that makes sense

I jammed, he called with Kh4h for flopped two pair. I did not hit another Ace nor did the board pair and I lost. Nonetheless this has produced some really good hand discussion.

Freaking K4.

What a shite hand.

LOL.

That's unfortunate. I would definitely have put him on the King, not two pair on that flop. Hope you took some player notes.

if he is calling raises with K4, make a note of this, and then try to sit at his table every time you see him, as he is obviously a fish!
