13BBs? 2775 - standard raise is to 600 so 2175 behind and then very hard to play flops with any Queen/King. Would have pushed here AK?

Correct. It is AJ, in MP and you're hardly desperate. U might feel that way, but your sit really isn't that bad.

Edit: damn iPhone harder than it looks. I would not have pushed here

Fair enough. So lets say we raise to 600 and bloke with 10 10 pushes - do we fold? If he flats and we have a Q or K on the flop do we c/f or maybe bet/fold?

I say it was a flip worth taking in order to acquire a stack you can seriously contend with. No point hanging around to sneak into cash for $6. Gotta play for Final Table. And to make a FT in any decent sized tourney you will need to win races, probably coin flips. Therefore you are running bad but 5 flips in a row still isnt mega bad, just standard variance. Sux more when you have to drive for 2 hours to lose a flip.....
If you ask me, Muhammed Ali in his prime was much better than anti lock brakes.

the "go and go" works well with those type of hands, especially if you are looking to make something happen and you are OOP.

i.e raise to 800 pre, then if called shove any board.

still though, do you really need to shove straight away? i think you still had enough chips to get away from the hand if you raised to 600 and then the board bricked.

something like TT is prolly calling an open shove, but isn't shoving if you make a standard raise, leaving you the chance to take the pot away from him on the flop. shoving is the high variance way to go about it.
