The right thing.

Postby Conspiracy Theorist » Mon Oct 12, 2009 4:41 pm

So I've had 2 spots in 2 days where Im not sure if I did the right thing, given the, unknown at the time, outcome.

First was yesterday at Crowns sunday $100 tourney.

Very first hand Im UTG with [2h][2d]. What do you do?

Next was just before in a stars 18 man SNG final. 7 players left. 4 get paid.

Blinds 400/800 ante ??100?? (this is from memory so not quite sure)

SB (2500)
BB (3200)
UTG (985)
UTG+1 (1450)
MP (5800)
CO (8100)
Button (3200)

UTG all in for 985
UTG+1 all in for 1450
fold
fold
Me on button [7h][7d]

What do you do??

No info to speak of:

1 - Probably limp/fold to raise. Just can't help myself ;)

2 - Fold

on the first one. you have as much info as I do. It was very first hand of tourney.

Second one I hadnt played many hands against the 2 villains due to them starting on the other table. But I did 3 bet UTG+1 twice and he folded both times. UTG folded every hand he saw in that short time.

1. Limp, fold to raise. First hand, people will limp with more marginal hands... hit ya set, and ya good, but easy to lay down to a raise at any time.

2. I'd probably reshove.
I'm not perfect. I'm what perfect aspires to become

Hey CT - early in a tournament while the blinds are low I am always limping any pocket pair from any position. Then depending on how many players raise or call raises - I may fold/call.

Second hand I think is a clear fold - you have two all-ins. Let them battle it out and make your way closer to the money.

second one is a snap fold

first one, i am guessing this is full ring (because in 6max i would raise)

but i think its a fold or a limp. leaning more towards fold, as you dont know the table tendancies

Live tourney even trishan? With only 60bb starting stack? Not the 100bb you get online.

Bacon. Any reason for reshoving the 7s or is it just the vibe of the thing?

I guess I am a bit like Ivey - I love pocket pairs and will see a flop so long as it is relatively cheap enough and getting good pot odds.
