And hey - if someone wanted to take the deal on offer, good luck to them - each to their own. Not saying no-one should consider it.
Just wouldn't do it myself.

Guaranteeing less risk.
Sacrificing 40% of possible winnings.
I guess it depends on how you like your chances of winning.
If you took the deal and min cashed, your net profit would be ~ $290
If you paid for the ticket outright, your net profit would be ~ $450
The first example only cost you 250. the second example 500.

Re: GF Ticket For Sale
Hi ,
True , so in turn , if i took the deal and made the cash i am in front either way , just the amount would be different ...
If i believed i had the nouse to make it well into the cash , no doubt i would buy it outright .
Being i have only played 2 live games at a pubs ever , and my experience is minimal , the saving of $200 on the ticket suits me . Totally understand why it wouldn't suit others with loads of experience tho .
I think i may just end up coming to spectate anyway .
Cheers Phil

Not sure where the 500 came from.
The deal is 250 + stake
To buy outright is 450.

Re: GF Ticket For Sale
This is slowly evolving into the worst thread ever.
LOL.
It's all about equity in the tournament.
If I were to buy a stake in someone this would be at a dollar for dollar equity value. So If I paid $250 for a stake I would have a 50% share in that horse, but if the horse was a proven decent performer I would pay above the odds and perhaps that $250 only buys me a 35% - 45% stake.
If you are trying to offload your ticket then the deal is worked out on past perfomance, say if I was offered the ticket it would need to be $150 for the ticket with a 50/50 split or $300 for the ticket with 10% going to the seller. LOL.
It's all weighted in terms of equity, field size, +EV and who the deal is struck with.

Re: GF Ticket For Sale
So the fact that the seller actually went through the motions and qualified and the buyer didnt doesn't come into it?

Actually no.
If anything that puts more value back into the sellers hand. The ticket has a value, this value does not increase or decrease based on the methods of obtaining said ticket.
