there was a limp, shove, call - not an open shove. I would have thought this would have reduced your equity in the hand somewhat.

side note: does the term "open shove" still apply as there was no prior raise?

i think in this case, limping is the first action, i.e it was an open limp, then a shove.

Fair call. I didn't want to lose the history though. I'm forgetful sometimes ;)

It wasn't in my mind at the time. I was willing to race at the time, hoping to see either lower pockets (I had thought 8's) or AK.

Woops, I didn't realise the 8bb shove was AI. I thought for some reason that was an opening raise. Changes my decision somewhat (debatable whether that's an 8bb open btw).

Now its if you want to race vs the flat. Who knows, you might even have him dominated. I probably shove this, although I think both a shove or fold are fine.

Garth/benny the cunt - what do you think of the range I stove above? I gave the All-in a pretty wide range but is it not wide enough? I gave the guy who flats a pretty tight range - too tight?

I also messed up the EV calcs because there is a sidepot.

I think you missed the initial limp too?

I took that into account but 99% sure UTG folds to an all-in, a flat and then another all-in regardless of how strong his hand is (except AA)

and how many times do you see someone limp UTG with AA or KK at this stage of a tourney, waiting for the push so they can double up?
