My GF weekend - Part 1

Friday night was indeed an awesome show. The Swankmeister General picked me up around 7pm and we headed down to the welcome party. As others have said, the plan was to take it easy on the cordials. This particular plan didn't quite stay on script. Thankfully there were no repercussions the next day, and after all - who needs more than 3 hours sleep anyway?

The team really did put on a great night for the players. Was great to meet some of the recent additions to our forum, as well as those I'd played online throughout the season. Trishan and Mike in particular were top blokes. Even if they are Victorian. Not looking where I was walking and shoulder barging Warnie as he exited the building for a smoke was another little highlight :D

The alarm goes off at 6am the next morning - I had forgotten to change it from the usual weekday time :/ - but there's no going back to sleep, so I dance around the house for a good two hours to expend some energy, before finally showering, donning the newly designed Mistress Poker t-shirt and getting ready to hit the WAFC. It's around this time I get a call from Mat (rcon), enquiring about a lift into the city to pick up his car. He gave me the directions to the house he was staying at, adding "look for the house with a bus on the front lawn". I laugh, not sure what he was on about exactly.

I get another call shortly after, asking if I can 'Sew Nathan's buttons'. I thought this was a euphemism, but it turned out the svelte Mr Butler had managed to pop a button off his jacket. Being the blokey bloke I am, I prompty retrieve my sewing kit and extract needle and thread to assist in the repair job later that morning.

I jump in the car and make my way to the supplied address, to find a full-sized bus - sitting on the front lawn. Still don't know what it was doing there. But he certainly hadn't been joking. I drop him off in the city, then double back to pick up Emily. As I'm waiting, I get out the car to throw away my empty coffee cup - and the new belt I had bought the day before snaps. "Gosh darnit" I exclaim (or words to that effect) - and quickly ring Em, asking her to grab me one of Nathan's belts. When she exits the building and wanders toward the car, I see her holding a belt that would have had Elton John saying "Wow, that belt is gay." Still, I'm not fussed - I prefer my pants around my waist most of the time, so it will suffice. My day has certainly started in a normal fashion ...

Fifteen minutes later, we arrive at the club, and I start making the rounds, catching up with everyone. Nathan's button is successfully (kind of) reattached, and a short time later, it's go time for the Main Event.

Stay tuned for Part 2 of my story. Or not, if you were bored from reading part 1. Up to you, really. I don't mind.

I want to write a huge TR but I'll be here all night. Will work on something though. Would there be an interest in one?

I will deliver my TR (Event Report) in bullet points rather than story as it would be about 3 pages shy of JJR Tolken novel if I ran it out...

HighLights
1) Great people! Players, work friends, venue team... everyone was awesome!
2) Great event, the single greatest expreince since i began working in poker
3) My awesome pink shirt and tie combo! I have a line of guys ready to "snag a peice of that action" (including Scott!)
4) Matty Norwood! Ran every side event with his heart on his sleeve as they were all smashed and exceeded every expectation we set!
5) Chatting with Warney (for the second time, brag!)
6) Getting a photo and signed bat from Warney
7) Dealing to Warney
8) Busting Warney! Q10 vs 66 on a 6,10,10 flop (brick, brick T=R)
9) Working with Michael (Vic Boss) Great guy!
10) Working with Ron, Even though he wasn't mean to work, He is a champ!
11) The After party for staff!
11a) Drinking!
11b) Being destroyed through a fence!
11c) Smashing Brayds over 100m!
11d) Snoring very loudly!
11e) having the rest of this week off!

Low Lights of the weekend
1) CHAFE!
2) CHAFE!
3) CHAFE!
4) Vommitting after my 100m victory (not quite the celebration i had in mind)
5) Having CHAFE on my CHAFE!
6) spending my whole week off recoving from chafe!

That about sums it up... one thing i didn't mention was catching up with Brett and Garth, most of you would know by now that we have been mates for along time out side of the NPL/888PL and its always good to see them!

This last bit most won't get but ill add it in anyway.... one of the funniest things over the weekend would be Sarah and the time she lost her legs and Brays's Geelong good! Damn that was funny!
