Scenario -
At the end of last season I was leading my venue by 15+ points, the guy in second decided to bring his wife along. They sat at the same table, next to each other, consequently while it cant be proven she dumped her chips to him and ended up on the bad beat table, leaving him well stacked and in an excellent position, thus finishing in the points and winning the venue. Yes I know that the top 5 qualify for the semi finals tournament and there is really not that great an incentive for winning a venue overall other than bragging rights and a little dust collector ( trophy ) but still... I wasn't thrilled.
Which leads me to my question,
upon registering for away games is it possible to allocate a table and seat number to each player rather than letting people sit at tables willy nilly? the stamped cards can have seat and table numbers written on them so no-one forgets where they are sitting. IMO I think this is the fairest way. What do you think?

Re: Seat Allocation for away games
If you have those worries, then ask the TC to watch out...
There has been threads before about allocated seating, and for foundation games, the main factor should be a fun night out, and if I'm made to sit away from friends, I won't play them.
I thought challenge away games were allocated.

Re: Seat Allocation for away games
edit: bacon has said pretty much the EXACT same thing while i was writing this post, LOL.
hi lee
this is currently done for the challenge games.
for the freeroll games, i think its good that 888pl have decided not to have random seating, as i love playing on a table with my mates on a friday night.
in fact, i would probably stop playing freerolls if i had to sit on the same table.
that being said, if you think some sort of collusion is going on, next time maybe have a quiet word to the tournament captain in the break or whenever you get the chance (im not sure if you have done this)
as soon as the staff are made aware, then steps can be taken to stop it happening - i.e just watching the table, or moving a single player, etc.

thanks for the reply, I totally understand what you guys are saying, and yes i did tell the TC to watch them the trouble with that is you cant accuse someone of dumping chips until the act has been done and by then its to late.

yeah true. but at least if you bring it to the attention of the TC, it will hopefully not occur on the future

Re: Seat Allocation for away games
I understand where you are comming from Millys, I too am/was an advocate for allocated seating, but now I'm flexible.
In my region we also had a few players that were in a word cheating, with table talk chip transfers laying off hand when the other was playing etc etc.
Unlike benny the cunt I disagree with the concept of sitting with mates all the time, a few seasons back I sat with the same group of players week in week out, during this period of my poker education I was avoiding a group of non thinking players, but I feel my poker suffered because I was not learning how to contend with different playing styles, since reverting to sitting anywhere I feel my game has improved (and being results orientated) my results prove it.

42.7 percent of all statistics are made up on the spot.

each to their own gundog, but i think in freerolls at least, you need to be able to choose
