Re: Apologies for the longest post in history
Very well written Garth. I think the excitement this event has generated is evidence enough that you have done a super job. Keep it up! It's won't be long before player numbers skyrocket and a league player takes down a big event.

Re: Apologies for the longest post in history
question garth
in future seasons, what sort of numbers do you expect to be getting for this event?
do you want the numbers to increase or stay around the same?
the reason i ask, is if there are 400 runners for this event, obviously the tournament structure would hvae to suffer a little bit.
just wondering what your vision for this tourney is.

Numbers will increase. I do believe that this event will eventually have to go to bi annually rather than every season. I am still feeling the after effects of the weekend just gone.
I am thinking that we place more emphasis on the semi finals and creating some excellent side events, maybe make the semi finals into a two day event as well.
Then I would look to hold the Grand Final on a long weekend and create a three day event. I would hate to mess with the blind structure, I think it is almost perfect as it is now. I have a bit of thinking to do.

Adelaide champs was with old NPL. We need someone to win a major event under the banner of the 888PL. It should be a biggish event as well and not necessarily live. If Aaron ships the FTOPS main event or the WCOOP that'd be nice hey Kleemann?

yeah twice a yaer would be great, it would mean it will be more prestigious.
three day event would be absolutely awesome, i was thinking about this as well.
blind structure is pretty much perfect for a 250 runner tourney. but for 400 it would obviously have to get a bit faster, or go into a third day

Obviously +1 to everything said about Garth so far, but i feel there is one unsung hero from all this.
The most awesome thing to come out of this weekend was the yoda shirt you designed!

Brilliant shirts.
They will be worth a fortune when Lucas Arts get a wiff!
If you ask me, Muhammed Ali in his prime was much better than anti lock brakes.
