Should 888PL staff be permitted to play in regular 888PL events?

Yes, I have no issue with this and miss playing against TC's.

Pretty much solves most of the issues i think...

Currently the TC's can play at Checkmates in the CBD on a Monday night, which from what I hear is a whole heap of fun (I am getting way too old to stay out late on a "school night" otherwise I would be there with bells on!)

So along with the Monday night, why not have 1 foundation event that the TC's can play in, in the South say on a Tuesday night, and 1 in the north on say a Wednesday night.

If they are to play, it would need to start as from the begininning of a new season to ensure that players do not get disgruntled if their points (and therefore leaderboard standing) are affected by being knocked out by a TC.

This is in kinda the same view as mine, but I know that most TC's shifts chop and change as they cover other venues etc... so having them forced to play the full season would be very difficult.

they dont have to play a full season des.

just something like kingy, thursdays, = TC venue for the north. (example)

kingy, fridays, not designated a TC venue, so they cannot play.

i dont mind the idea

time for my two cents... i am not against the idea of TCs playing in certain tournaments, many great ideas have been raised and i am sure some of them may work

now for the negative... it will only take ONE TC to ruin everything that has been worked for over the past few years and my question would be 'is it worth the risk'??

by far the majority of the TCs i have come across are fine and would NEVER do anything to jeopodise the brand, but can anyone guarantee there isnt one bad apple that could kill the whole thing?? personally i dont think it worth the risk.

now a thought for a possible compromise, how about organising regional TC bounty tourneys?? once a month or so a car load of TCs from wherever go to a different region for a stand alone cbi tourney, one or two per table, they deal the whole game but are permitted to play...
I respect the poker gods, I think that's why they are nice to me!!!

can they play when they are off duty? i thought that they would be able to, but if they can't, please correct me. obviously TC's wont be playing while they are working.

good post pete, raises some interesting points.

clarification -- As a registered [ badged ]gaming employee at a liciesced gaming venue am not permitted to play the Pokies Machines at anytime on the machines at the place of my employment.

Anytime ,anywhere else I can participate.

I like the idea of TC known friendly venues and as stated before TC's are just another skilled ? victim at your table.
my opinion the Positives lead 75% / 25 %... ;)

I would like very much to have the TDs/TCs playing again.

I t is always enjoyable with the ones in my area and a great rivalry developed on taking them out.

I would suggest that instead of points being allocatted for taking one out that the venue TD have some of those 1,000 chips cards and issue one to the player who takes out the playing TD.

This would give a bigger incentive to players.

I must confess that I already knew the answer to this one. Where they are similar is that there is a perception that poker is pure gambling, (I get this all the time... “Playing poker again? There’s a help line for gamblers you know”). And there are parties whom would dance a jig if they could prove irregularities or a lack of integrity in pub poker.

The mere fact that Garth et al are prepared to look introspectively at 888PL policies is a good sign in itself. I’m sure that Garth will take on board the points and issues raised here and make a decision which will best suit the 888pl goals – to which only management are privy.
This post is compliant with anti-comedy policies of this forum. Although not hurt, 10 clowns were sent mad in the production of this post and will undergo group therapy whilst crammed into a very, very small car.
