 So polite, Glenn!

Anyway, back on topic.

Love the idea of a 2 day semi-final event. Great idea regaring the multipliers for venue and challenge events.

The only thing I really have an issue with is the fact there aren't any online games starting between 4pm and 9pm. Not all of us can get to venues every night of the week so there needs to be something within those hours! Challenge event maybe? That way if people want to play a freeroll, they can go to a venue?

Other than that, it all sounds pretty good! Looking forward to 2010! :D

not a bad idea there. maybe have some challenge games, but no freerolls during pub times.

I doubt they will have any online events at 7pm. Venue's need to be shown that 888pl are actively trying to get people to the venues, not take them away and encourage them to stay home.

If you can't go out to a venue, then you will have to wait till the 9pm games to start.

We all have to remember that the money for all the great prizes 888pl puts up each season comes from the venues. Not running games online. If the numbers decrease at venues because everyone is playing online, then the prizemoney shrinks, and so do the prizes.

this is true des.

but what about running challenge games during this time? people are then still spending money through 888, and not just being scummy freerollers.

888pl doesnt make money from the challenge events, thus doesnt help the prizepool at the end of the day. (i could be wrong, but im pretty sure this is the case).

anyway, it can still be seen as encouraging people to stay home and play a $3.30 tourney, instead of heading out.

i think they get incentives from 888 to get people to play real money. might be wrong though

I completely understand the need for 888PL to ensure that they are getting numbers in venues and generating revenue, after all they are running a business.

888PL will be actively trying to get people into the venues should the multiplier for Foundation Away games be introduced. The amount of points up for grabs will be huge! The amount of runners will no doubt increase.

If players had the option of playing in an Away Foundation or an Online Challenge event, of course the Away Foundation event would be more appealing! But I think there still should be something in that timeslot for people who can't make it to a venue for the freeroll. Hence the suggestion of a Challenge game to be put in that timeslot.

I don't see how having an online Challenge event in that time slot will make a significant impact on the amount of people going to a venue. At the moment the Challenge events at 8.30pm have around 40 runners? Sure that will increase if the points scale is increased, however, I would be really suprised if it made a siginificant impact on the amount of people playing in a venue.

Sounds like a catch 22 for everyone involved, because this is turning into a circular argument.
