Well, I think of it like this.

God is an entity, a Creator as such.

Religion is just an instrument of control. The premise is to worship God, but it's just a smokescreen really. It's designed to manipulate and scare you into doing the will of the religious leaders.

Hence, a religion doesn't require God. And God certainly doesn't require religion.

Religion is basically just a series of ideas which are often practised in complete contradiction to the ideas themselves. Bit like Communism and Freedom really. The idea is to free the plebs, but in practise it only enslaves them.

So, yes. I believe in God. But I think religion is a nonsense. They don't need to co-exist.

God is responible for the creation of life ( and for the record i am not a beliver)

Religion is responible for War, the death of billions and the rape of small children

i agree this happens in religions, but it is not religion that causes it.

humans acting in contradiction with the supposed ideologies that they believe in happens all the time, but it is not isolated to religion, thats just human nature. as you said, communism is a great idea in theory. so is capitalism. but they are both screwed up by people bastardising them for their own advantage most of the time.

If you read the koran, (which i haven't, but i have read a little about it), Islam is very similar in a lot of ways to christianity.

but it is the fundamentalists of Islam that bastardise it and change the meaning for their own motives.

similarly, the fundamentalist christians bastardise the bible and take it literally, when the bible was never meant to be taken in that context.

that is not the fault of the religion, but the fault of people

Why?

the answer is because lemon trees evolved to make lemons. in evolutionary terms, they are very efficient and smart at what they do.

fruit evolved with a nice flavour because then birds will eat them, crap out the seeds and the tree will spread.

(on a side not, we kinda do make lemons, well at least we can genetically modify plants now)
