I am guessing Bendigo has Vline to Spencer Street or Southern Cross as they call it. And from there you need to check on:

There is a V-Line Service that runs from Bendigo to Southern Cross. You would then need to catch a Lilydale train out to Croydon (about 45-50 mins from Southern Cross).
The Dorset Gardens Hotel is only a short taxi trip from Croydon Station and they have accommodation there too (never stayed there so I can't comment on the quality!). There are a few other hotels in the area but it makes sense to stay there if you have qualified for both finals and the fact that you are trekking from the 'Go.
Good luck, see you there!

Really dont recommend staying in the CBD.
As previously stated, Croydon is about a 45 min drive from the city.
Check the deals offered by the venue. Im sure 888pl has negotiated a discount rate for players.
