Network help
After the computer gurus for this one. Hopefully something simple. Here at work we have a basic business broadband service with Telstra. Just a normal broadband modem that has one of the owners computers in it and my laptop. Since coming back from holidays I can't connect to the net it says I'm connected to an unidentified network. So I'm connected to the network no net access. She has it so the modem works. I have tried powering off the modem, resetting it but nothing works. Any ideas?

Re: Network help
First step - right click your wireless down the bottom right traybar, can do the diagnose and repair option and see if that helps.
If not. second option
would try the root for the router.
What type of modem is it?
if belkin i know its 192.168.2.1 Brings up the screen, if you know the password you should be able to access the internal settings and tweak the network name.

Cheers Brett I have tried step 1 about a billion times but no luck. I don't think I have ever had windows attempt to repair something and when complete say BINGO! You're all fixed!
As for the modem and settings I don't even think the boss has a clue. I think I might be screwed for a bit. Thanks for the help though mate.

Re: Network help
Check to see if you have an IP address.
Are you on Vista? I think you are?
Start - then type in CMD in the box there and press enter
Command prompt appears
Type in ipconfig
Then see what your IP ADDRESS is, and let me know.
Quite often it says that message when you are physically connected but don't get given an IP Address from the router.
