I repeat that we are LUCKY to have ANY online games at all!!
As players we are probably in the best position to comment on the structure of any online events (and most have been markedly improved btw) but surely 888pl management are in the best position to decide the schedule of events based on how that effects in venue numbers and financial return to 888pl as a result.

I'm not against changing the focus back to the live venue's Des, I fully support the concept of live play, so rather than have 10 games to qualify then make it 15 or 20, then you would have to support more than 1 venue.

But there still needs to be a fair mix of time slots of online games if neccessary ditch the freerolls and and only have buy-ins.

Dont blame online games for the demise of venues because of falling numbers that was inevitabe, pub poker reached a saturation point, and for various reasons player numbers have dropped off, to a solid core of regular players, in some cases venues needed to review their attitude to the players to encourage players to return.

Yes some players have dropped off from regular venues, but 888pl want to make sure that online games in competing timeslots are not a reason for this. surely you can see their side in this...

No Mac you are missing the real point.

It's easy for 888pl encourage players back to live venues, but the venues also have to do something to attract the players back.

Remember I am a customer of FHG/888pl, if that company fails to meet my expectation I am ore than likely to take my business else where.

Do you think if 888pl restrict games in the prime time slot it will encourage players back to the venue I think not, If you use me as an example I dont play 888 very often I play with another provider most nights.

Before anyone else decides to challenge me on this, ask yourself this how many times did you support a live venue over the last few seasons, if it more than 25 each season then have a say.

WHY do you want more 888pl games during "prime time" if you rarely play there anyway?

Here's something for you to do? Ring Foxtel/Austar, and tell them you want more poker on FoxSports1 during prime time, because you deserve it as their customer? Pretty sure they'll tell you where to go. And why? Because they, as a business, have decided that the shows they show are determined by ratings/advertising revenue and other factors?

Why don't I come to your service station, and say "Well, I get paid today, a Friday, so I want the cheap fuel cycle to reflect that!!! I'm only paying Tuesday's price today"

As a consumer, I can ask as much as I like for something to be changed, but I'm sure plenty of research would be done before any change was put in place.
I'm not perfect. I'm what perfect aspires to become

Ok this is going in circles. The fact that you played more live events in a given time period is completely irrelevant in this instance. We are not talking here about players here that support venues and play a little online. The argument was about players who play only online and feel they deserve something substantial out of it.

If it was easy, then why do venues close? im sure 888pl would love your insight on this matter.

I wonder how you came up with this point. How can you possibly know this?

You are talking as if 888pl deliberately changed their schedule just to screw you over? Nobody else seems to be complaining? Why would 888pl make these changes if they didn't think that it would make a difference?

I left out an important part of that post, until the changes I was a strong supporter of 888 on line poker, in saying that I still supported at least 3 riverland venues during last season as well as from time to time metro and gawler venues.

Since the change over I now play in prime time with other providers, how many live venues will I support this season, well both the Waikerie venues and every now and again the Renmark sunday game, after that I dont know.

Ask yourself this during the 1st 2 seasons of 888/888pl on line poker did it make you decide not to play at a venue...........In my case no in fact it encouraged me to support 888pl even more.

I agree. Some venues make you spend alot more than other venues to get your stamp up. Some venues offer much better prizes than other venues. It is not because of 888 that I do not go to more venues.

I only play 1 888pl live game a week now (havent even looked at the online stuff this year, must do that!). The venue I go to have always been consistant with what you need to spend for your stamp up, if you pay your $10 a year and become a member of that venue you get an extra $500 in chips, they bring out snacks for all the players at 9.00pm and the area that poker is set up in is really comfortable. This venue does not offer as good a prizes as other venues, but I feel I get the best value for my $$ there compared to other places. I checked out alot of venues in my region over the last year.

There are so many poker leagues these days and I think what 888 are doing is very progressive and from a business sense that is what you want to be.
Note to self: Fold Aces on the bubble.......
