ruling on when a hand should be mucked

Postby 666HARPS666 » Mon Feb 08, 2010 10:27 pm

Sorry guys did a search & did not find .
If a player is not @ a table , when should their cards be mucked ?
If they are not @ table when cards are dealt .
Or like they are 2 feet away from table coming back from toilet
should they be mucked ?

thanks

If they aren't sitting down, when the last card is dealt (that would be the 2nd card to the dealer) then that players hand should be mucked.

If a player is not seated by the time the final card is dealt there hand is declared dead. Only a TC can adequately declare a hand dead, but some restraint must be shown in regards to this rule, as long as their absence or return to the table will not hold play up too much then their hand should remain live!

Pretty much this. Use some common sense though, I mean if the guy is like two feet away and he's rushing back, let him play. Its just pub poker after all.

Also comes down to some events rules will be applied a little heavier than others.

E.g Semi Finals vs your local event.
Load "*" ,8,1

Just an idea to stop the confusion of this happening in the future.

Maybe if we introduced a rule that says if a player is not at a table by the time the 1st card hits the felt, the player simply is not dealt into the hand (like when you play at the casino!), thus keeping all the cards in the deck live at the point of them being dealt.

Its not a cash game, its a tournament. Can't be done.

if you play in a casino tourney, and are not there, im pretty sure they will deal you in and muck you still
