Think this way: Post-flop

Bet of 200 (2xBB - Or 2x).

Raised to 800. The bet is 8xBB, but the raise is 6xBB.

This ! ;)
When choosing between the 2 evils , I like to choose the 1 i haven't tried yet !

FFS people the conversation was about a pre-flop raise with AA. The fact is that THE TOTAL AMOUNT of the raise is talked about in multiples of the BB - ALWAYS. so a min raise is 2x. if blinds are 50/100 and you raise to 400 then its 4x.

Post flop, there is no reason to talk about bet sizing in terms of BB, instead in relation to the size of the pot or the previous bet/raise.

This isn't even a discussion, it just is. There is no ambiguity, thats the way it is. If you think its different, then please read a book on poker terminology.

im not reading any posts hereafter by bacon or gundog, because they are quite simply incorrect.

The bet is 4x... but the raise is still 3x.

Hence why, if you wanna re-raise, you can go to 700... cos the raise again is 3x

A raise of 1.5x is legal, but a bet of 1.5x is not.
I'm not perfect. I'm what perfect aspires to become

bacon pre flop it IS a raise, and the BB is counted as the first bet.

Your'e right that its a bit of a thread hijack, but getting terminology correct is important when giving information about a hand for discussion. Small differences in description can make all the differences when calculating things like pot odds etc. so it is important in a hand discussion forum imo.
