Tom Tom sofware comes on the iPhone too gundog.
Can be used the same way.

I don't exactly know how Bluetooth can be used for GPS though?

Another great app for my N97 is Microsoft Office is it available for iphone, I also like the availability of the full qwerty keyboard.

you can view any Office document - though I haven't had the need to edit any yet. Probably can.
iPhone uses a full querty keyboard.

The GPS receiver communicates the data to your mobile via bluetooth

Thats only because on the limited No of sats it can aquire, I'm not sure how many channel receiver the phone has but I would suggest 5 or 6, and if you loose a couple of sats your it becomes carp, this adds another twist too when using the GPS the constant searching for sats is a heavy power drain on your battery.

Like I said before if the iphone can bluetooth link with gps receiver that solves your power drain as you are only using a bluetooth connection and you have the capability to connect up 32 sats depending on the receiver (see link in earlier post)

yeah, but whats the point in getting an iphone if you then have another gps reciever? you may as well just buy a dedicated gps if thats the case
