Re: Another Scoreboard question
I think what they mean is, it comes down to the Dream Team being the players with the best scores in the AK and MM events.

Re: Another Scoreboard question
Garth,
please change the entire structure of the competition to suit me. Mondays through thursdays i can only play during the day, and fridays through sundays, i can only play in a small 2 hour window between 3-5am. Also, make it fair for me because i live 200km from my nearest venue, which averages 8 runners. So i am proposing a 50x multiplier for that specific venue, because i really want to win the dream team.
Thanks in anticipation,
Mr Ungrateful.

Re: Another Scoreboard question
N1 macca ....
Pretty sure the game on semi final weekend was well advertised as a 10x , hence why it attracted 100 odd runners . That is why some didn't play the "Hi-Rollers" event , opting to try and take advantage of the 10x .
The same reason some "travel" to the larger venues , to try for the larger points on offer ! !
Did the Vic/Tas semi's have this same event semi weekend ? ?
I believe the point structure is quite good , one must learn where to obtain maximum value , and channel there efforts there ! As some did earlier in the season
Yes i do agree that the "Country" folk are at a slight disadvantage with limited venues , eg. South East SA only has 1 venue within a 300km radius to play at ! (well actually not entering Vic , there closest SA venue would be 400+km away !)
Be interesting to see the changes (if any) to next seasons structure !

ps. (Harps rip off) Cant' please them all , some one will always be unhappy !

Re: Another Scoreboard question
Not trying to incite an argument , but it was only double a "normal" venue score !
Sheesh , a win at a certain venue in the northern suburbs here is worth more that 1200 points !
I do understand the frustrations of those , these sort of events are NOT available to tho ..

Re: Another Scoreboard question
There's a 10x game? That is essentially the same as the GF freeroll, which we were told last season was going to be ditched (everyone remembers the uproar over that, right?).
All this talk over points/the lengths people go for it has me swirling ideas around for a script for some pub poker league based movie

Leigh,
If you go as far to say that then you also have to say that in the first season awarding points for the GF freerolls which attracted 500 players is also BS.
Yes, more players have access to these games, but entry was also limited to 500 runners and not everyone of our regular players has a computer or access to the internet to play these games.
You did well in Season 1 thanks to some very consistent placings in these games, of which we offered 8 of these events over the firs season and awarded points.
All,
I also would like to point out that noone has highlighted issues with this game (which was held 31st of Jan) until the last week of the season and the DT scoreboard is close to having the positions finalised.
I will also add that moving forward all states will have the opportunity to play for the same amount of competition bonus points (outside of regular competition). I will let you know that right now the in venue averages for games across all states are the following SA - 38, VIC - 44, QLD - 78 and TAS - 51. SA have done very well to have that many players appear on the DT score board considering that they have lose on average 300 points per game compared to Victoria and that SA operates 42 games less per week over a 12 week season. Therefore if we do the calculation SA players are deficient almost 152,000 points in their regular away competition compared to Victoria. With Qld entering the competition next season with 70 odd state event and almost double the amount of players per game you can expect a fairly top heavy DT board with Qld players.
I expect then we would receive complaints that their needs to be more Bonus Points games in SA and VIC to equalise the ability to increase averages. Hence why in the second half of the year I am looking to create a formula that decides how many BONUS POINTS games a state is required to run to equalise the points available to players over an Away season and to actually detail that formula to include regional analysis as well.
The same will apply for the Home Game fixture as well. At times bonus 10 - 20X multiplier games will be introduced to the Home fixture.
Don't get me wrong, the average player will not be able to play in these events every week and will be lucky to have two of these offered to their region every season. But the points chasers will definitely travel up to an hour, if not further, to play in some of these games.
Feel free to discuss!
