For me, its a tie between Sean Connery and Roger Moore. I did really like Daniel Craig's performance though, gave Bond some character.

Yes. Well, the movies at least. The series had hit a stale point before Casino Royale. I blame that on Pierce Bronson, plus the whole 'James Bond, (the movies, their style) secret agent' thing was getting old.

I don't think Bond will ever die. Hopefully, there will always be a need for his combination of action/danger/humour. He's just too popular a character to die off.

The main reason the Bond movies work so well is because when you walk into that cinema you know what you're getting. You know the majority of the movie will be Bond vs the bad guys, then at the end, Bond will win. You're gonna get action, and one liners. There's always gonna be a need for that.

And the James Bond movies do a great (if not the best) job at providing that service.

I'm a bit of a fan, I think Pierce Brosnan was rather poo, but not as atrocious as George Lazenby and still managed to be better than Timothy Dalton.

Sean Connery IS the best Bond, Roger Moore is also good but a clear second.

Some of those gadgets Q hands out are fricken awesome!
Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

Few conflicting reports, but IMDB has it as Brosnan, so I'll let this one slide.

I miss the old Q :( John Cleese does a good job though, but he's no Desmond Llewelyn.

Agreed, the old Q was fantastic and for me it was always something in the films that I looked forward to.

John Cleese is brilliant in his own right and quite possibly the only other actor I think I could tolerate as Q :)

Bronson, Charles (rather tuff)
Brosnan, Pierce (pussy)

Yeah i agree with you on connery,
But the character i like the best is the Old q (RIP), oh do you think money penny and Bond will ever get to together, i don't want it to happen cause it would spoil the series a bit and well he is a "ladies Man"

No, Moneypenny is nothing more than a flirt.

Wasn't there a 'post flop' bedroom scene in one of the films? Connery may have been the Bond in it. It's been yonks since I've watched whatever film it was in but I'm reasonably sure the deed was implied.

Hmm, never heard of that myself. I remember in one of the Pierce Bond movies they had a serious talk, and Bond implied that he would like to (seriously) take Moneypenny out somewhere, and she said no. Think that was more cos the old Moneypenny was leaving though, like a goodbye to the actor portraying her character.

Edit: Whoops, my mistake.

Pretty sure it was the last one Peirce Brosnan was in, They'll never get rid of her character though , even though its a small one it'll be like not having Q there etc.
