Biggest news story .......Crows sack Craigy mid season as crows slump to 3wins and 8 losses

I posted this in another thread in jest, after reading Adelaide Now there are many already calling for Craigy's head, I wonder what the reaction will be like If the Dee's clip the Crow's wings next week.

what is the crows injury sit like currently? ie. do they have a legit excuse for this, or is there something wrong.

Not many topliners are still injured (van berlo & johncock are probably the main ones), but there are heaps that are underdone.

Brett Burton has had only one week back after a knee operation, Porplyzia and Maric played their first game in 5-6 weeks after being injured in pre-season, Chris knights played in the SANFL on the weekend. Bernie Vince is struggling with the extra attention he is recieving from taggers after a breakout year last year.

So basically an injury interupted pre-season has meant so many of the crows players are not performing at their peak, and we haven't played well. But on the other hand, Fremantle has started the season in excellent form and so has Sydney, both of those clubs had excellent pre-seasons and played very well against the crows, so its as much a case for the opposition played brilliantly as much as the crows have been poor.

Will be interesting to see the next few weeks though. The crows can and will improve, but will the damage be done early in the season. But remember the crows were 1-3 (i think) at this stage last year and peaked at the right time to get within a (free)kick of playing in a prelim final, so i wouldn't right them off yet, but the next few weeks will be crucial.

Burton looked WAY underdone. It was almost embarassing.
Vince was good in patches but wasn't given the latitude he'd usually have, obviously.

Porplyzia was ok, and only one game off match fitness.

I watched Knights for the Eagles on Saturday (Happy with our win against Port, too!) and he looked good.

Sydney beat Adelaide at their own game. We were flat footed and reactive for almost the whole match. No doubt Sydney REALLY pumped themselves up for this game having not beaten Adelaide for so long. We would had to have been at our best to beat them. They are a classy side, as always, and the inclusions really work well for them, both from other clubs and the draft. The younger Jetta looks the goods already.

Looking at the ladder that Gundog posted for us to enjoy, the Crows defintely have the best list of those teams and will be the ones to rise up the ladder in coming weeks.

And for the record, the only thing that tilts me more than AdelaideNow comments, are CricInfo comments.

b4 round 1 I tipped Adelaide would finish 10th - 14th. See how this pans out I guess. Nothing has changed, you cant win a game of footy if you cant kick 100 points.

i would like to know where you base your logic.

the crows has the 6th best attack last year, and proplyzia and tippett both kicked over 50 goals, and would reasonably be expected to at least kick that much again this year.

dont write off the crows just yet, they were 3 wins and 5 losses from their first 8 games last year. collingwood only had 3 wins also.

by contrast, port adelaide carlton, essendon, hawthorn and sydney all had more wins and finished in the bottom 10

At least the Dee's are not on the bottom, and with the Crows cyrrent form I'll tip the Dee's to win next week.

Best thing about this week Gundog is that Melbourne lost and went from 16th to 12th !! At this rate another loss & we will be in the 8 This is our best ladder position since round 22 2006 & we haven't even won a game this season!! :D

But a win against the robots this week will help
