I would like a section on good books to read for tips and also something on Razz (Muzzington I think you are good with Razz so perhaps you could help with that as I am clueless).

I'm happy to help out anyone that wants to learn more about the other variants (razz, stud, omaha etc)

That sounds good as I really need some tips on these. With the books I suppose I am being lazy I have a quite a few poker books but have not got around to reading them. Started a couple but then put them down.

edited the OP with people's suggestions.

if you suggest something, it doesn't mean you have to be part of the group either.

Again I think, given the 888Pl is exclusively NLHE (unless I jsut cant find the PLO games that were online S1) we should keep this to NLHE.
If people want to start venturing into other variants, Omaha/Stud/Razz, there are heaps of resources out there to help beginning players with doing this.
I thought the whole point of a study group is when a group of people have read the 'basic strategy' books/articles (not all, but enough to get it) and are looking to improve specific areas of their game??? (Some in the group know more about my weaknesses, I may know more about others?)

Or as with the software topic, learning more how to use it and how others have done so, which is a topic much newer than poker in general, so bound to have less published information about.

Otherwise we are, for all intents and purposes, writing tutorials...
Take pot odds/outs for instance.
This is one area of poker that cannot be disputed (although what to do with that info can)
So if we spend a week on that, all we will do is rehash what others (some vastly more qualified/able to describe it) have already done.

Of course after covering plenty of Hold'em, sure lets discuss other variants, but as you were interested in appealing to the newer players benny the cunt, shouldn't we concentrate on Hold'em for a while initially?

i dont give a crap where you post, i specifically asked for a list of topics, and no discussion of those topics. yet you still think its ok to discuss topics.

Are you for real??
So what you are saying is that we cant discuss the merits of certain topics in this thread?
I wasn't discussing the topics themselves, only the merits of some of the topics suggested and the timing of such topics. There is nowhere else to put such thoughts excpept here... or filling you PM inbox with it, and here allows others to post similar thoughts, although it seems you don't want anything like that.
I thought you meant dont discuss the topics, as would be done in the study group, not 'no discussion of any sort'...
And like I asked in the other thread about this group, how are topics to be decided? Just maybe, participants thoughts on particular topics may influence which are chosen and when, or should we just leave that up to you?

Chill out... I WAS following your request, as I understood it.
