Gday all,
Now i know its only small fry but i believe i need to be added to this list. About a month ago i won the hot seat at Para Hills for a cool $1000 and last weekend drove myself over to Melb for Event 5 100k guarantee.
Hed a fair run at it ended up 40th out of 666 entries for $600. Got to sit next to Garth for the last half hour of the 1st day.Although i dont think he would remember he is in a different zone at the poker table isnt he. ( i mean that in a good way he remembers stuff that happened at the start of the day 7 hours later) Ended up with 28K for the day Av about 48k. Next day came out of the gate nicely had about 160k within the first hour. Thanks to AA two hands in a row. Folded some good hands just prior to the bubble 10 10 , 7 7 x 2 , 8 8 in hind sight i am spewin i didnt just call with my 10 10 but the time just didnt feel right, an old guy who hadnt bet for the day made a 7x blind raise from early pos so i folded them . then went dry for a couple of hours.
Blind were now 4000 / 8000 ante 2000 ( i think ) stack starting to dwindle i made a move with 99 on the button, guy next to me ( behind button ) raised to 28K he was very loose and i put him on a small pair if this size bet was consistant with the last few hours. I shoved my 90 odd K allin only to be called after about 5 mins by the big blind who was prepared to put his Tournament on the line with A2 off. Am i bias or is that a stinker of a call? The guy next to me folds and says to me he had 66 at least i got something right. Any way as you can guess first card i saw was the dreaded ace and bricks only from there . Had 9k left dropped in the middle in disgust next hand with 45off against K6 hit the four on the flop and the wonderful river bought me a nice K . kaboom out in 40th . Great fun though this being the first time i had bought into a decent tounament. Will definately have another crack at some point soon.
The weekend was a lucky one for me i also picked up a full house , and two flushes playing carribean and the dealer opened every time if i didnt drink 20 odd jim beam white bottles in the cas over the weekend it would of been more profitable but wtf had a great time and the crows won too. Cheers
