Fox sports are saying that he found out that he was going to be dropped after the st.kilda game. He then asked for a farewell game at home, the crows reportedly refused, so Edwards retired immediately.

Shit will hit the fan in a press conference with tyson edwards tomorrow morning. wow!

Wow, really?

I mean, its not like you're gonna make finals - I don't know about his form recently but after everything he's done for the club I'd snap call give him a farewell game.

I love how aaron uses poker phrases in everyday situations.

His form hasn't been that bad either. not sure if fox sports is correct, i guess we will find out tomorrow morning. but a pretty big surprise yeah.

Be awesome if he just like, rags on Adelaide the entire conference, that'd be great to see.

Why the hell wouldnt they give him a farewell game.

Last home game of the season. Edwards, Goodwin, Burton and McLeod.

Not like they are going to make the finals.

Dont think it will very sensational Mac the back room boys will be working overtime to ensure the club comes up smelling like roses.

It will be the usual line up Craigy on the right Triggy on the left, the dozey clowns treat another long servent of the club like a rubbish, when your finished with it just chuck it out.

Dont be surprised if he gets that farewell game after all.
42.7 percent of all statistics are made up on the spot.

Who else have they treated like crap graham?

Tomorrow is a press conference with Tyson edwards. Craigy and triggy might be there, but its mainly for tyson.

Maybe we are supposed to gift our players a final game in Round 1 so they make it to 300, and take up a spot on the list.

The crows arent going to make finals

Why not give a farewell game to him.

Edwards, McLeod, Goodwin all deserve it. Burton... well not so much but give him one too.

As much crap as I give the Crows, they have been great players for the club and they deserve it.

Edwards does get his farewell game.

I bet you anything that Craig didn't want to give him one, and Triggy sat him down and told him that he will be getting a farewell game no matter what

CROWS veteran Tyson Edwards is to have his farewell game after all. The shock retirement of the Adelaide Football Club premiership hero on Thursday night took another dramatic turn this morning when Crows coach Neil Craig offered the 33-year-old the tribute match he craved.

Craig revealed his decision to not guarantee Edwards a farewell game - based on his principle that selection must be earned at the Adelaide Football Club - did not sit easy with him at 6.30pm yesterday while many Crows members and supporters made their anger known.

"I had to make a decision that was best for the club rather than my selection principles that I uphold," said Craig.

"It is a decision on what is best for the Adelaide Football Club - and a fantastic opportunity to say farewell."
Edwards said he wanted the tribute match as the moment to say goodbye.

"And I am grateful Neil had the courage to give me that game," said Edwards, who today admitted his retirement was based on the realisation "the game has caught up with me".
"It is best for me - and best for the football club that they play a younger guy, spend more time on them rather than worry about what they do with me."

Edwards will finish his 16-season AFL career on 321 games by playing against Fremantle at AAMI Stadium on Saturday week.

Edwards quit on Thursday after Craig dropped him from the 22-man Adelaide team to play St Kilda at Etihad Stadium tomorrow night - and could not guarantee he could orchestrate a farewell match next weekend.

But late last night, as he considered the fans' backlash against the messy end to Edwards' distinguished career, Craig locked in a tribute match for Edwards.

Craig and Edwards are detailing the dramatic events that have again thrown the Crows into the headlines with a media conference at West Lakes at 9am.
