No matter what came out in the press conference, someone is gonna be a scapegoat.

People want someone to blame.

Really Craig has to go.

Yes, I don't like the crows, but he isn't making them a better football team.

Actually keep him for the next 20 years ;)

He's has no sense on tradition, respect, honour.. things that make good football teams great. Of course the supporters were going to have a backlash. Goodwin, Edwards, McLeod all deserve a huge send off.

The crows aren't going to make finals. A rookie missing 1 game is not going to destroy his career to give a guy who has played for over 15 years.

des, you dead set have no idea what you are taking about

you are one of those typical think headed supporters that cannot think about anything objectively.

to say that craig has to go is just ludicrous.

Ben, what has Neil Craig done to improve the crows?

He's a great sports scientist. But he isn't a good coach.

Finals the last 5 years, one bad season <> a bad coach. Otherwise Choco, bomber, Harvey would all have been moved on.

It's a business. Sentiment has little place. See what happened when we gifted Roo a final game. See what happened when super wangas was gifted a final YEAR

how about getting them to the finals every year he has coached (bar this one of course), getting them to 2 preliminary finals in which they lost unluckily, losing in the finals by a kick for the past 2 years, having the best minor round win rate out of any coach in the afl, and every year (except this one) they were expected to finish out of the eight, some commentators even had them in the bottom 4 a couple of years ago.

enough for you?

bar 2007 where port clearly fluked a grand final, a case could be argued that adelaide have done much better than port over the past 5 years.

neil craig has consistently got the best out of a group that i would say has definitely been less talented than a lot of teams.

this has been due to his well structured game plans, and his preparation between games.

there is a definite argument that his game day tactics are a bit slow, but thats what you have assistant coaches for - to compliment your weaknesses.

mark williams on the other hand is an egotistical dictator who refused to accept responsibility for his team's downfalls. the recruiting of dean laidley was a master stroke in my opinion, because he is the type of guy that wouldn't take any crap from mark. ports improved performances this season are an indicator of that.

dont worry about the crows des. injuries decimated their pre-season, especially in the core group that are expected to replace the stars. people like porps, knights, ban berlo, vince, tippett, symes, mackay have all had interrupted seasons, which have slowed their expected improvement. the old farts were always going to drop off, but unfortunately for the crows, the second tier haven't improved as much as they could have.

fremantle are another team that i admire.

mark harvey made the tough decision of getting rid of a lot of the older players, and giving game time to his youngsters. 2 seasons ago, that meant they were getting smashed, but look what happens when those players now have 30-100 games under their belt.

it does help when you probably have 2 of the top 3 form players in the comp as well (pav, sandilands, hodge)

i love her!

he's made finals with good players, anyone could have coached those teams to finals - the list got him there

but he isn't evolving the team, he hasn't improved it

the good players are now old, and the crows are now fighting to not win the wooden spoon

he's one dimensional - ive never seen him make a move on matchday that's changed a game

Crows went from a top 4 team to bottom 4 team in the space of 6 months. There's only 1 person to blame on that. If something isn't working, you change. Not just keep at it hoping it will work eventually.

I'm suprised someone hasn't blamed injuries. Vince, Knights, Symes and Otten do not turn that team into a top 4 contender.

at least choco admitted he had some downfalls with regards to match day coaching and they brought in Dean Laidley.
