1st hand, I'm holding Qh 9h with flush draw on the flop, villain has hit some rubbish on the board and pushes, I call, but no more hearts,..fair enough

Very next hand, I'm holding K 10, villain (the beautiful Ms Samantha Dodd) is holding, wait for it Qh 9h !!, the exact same cards I had previous hand...I've hit the K on the flop but villain has a flush draw, dejavu kicking in here, but this time she hits the flush on the river, naturally....

Bring on a new villain, Larx will do just fine TYVM. Now Larxs' least favorite hand as everyone knows is AQ, he can't win with em, and can't win against em.... my least favorite hand is JJ (isn't it everyones ?), can't win with em, can't win against em...
Larx pushes all in with his short stack, I call, roll the cards, I am holding Larxs dreaded AQ and he has my dreaded JJ... Dave is convinced he's gonna lose coz he's up against AQ........Nuh....JJ holds....of course it does..I just can not win against em...

Final hand, well mine anyway...bring in a new villain please, ahhhh the wonderful JMac.....excellent.......I'm big blind, Jo is mid to late...people fold out of turn while Jo is thinking, so ends up being Jo and I ...Jo eyeballs me and I eyeball him back....eventually Jo manages to pick up an amazing read on me, and is convinced I'm weak, so shoves all in...........with his........(sigh)..............Kh 6h.......I snap call with my......Ad Kd...good read Jo !!! WTF ???? Oh, except flop is heart heart club, and the turn is another heart....

That last hand was all about the situation, not the cards. You were short stacked (I think about 20k including your 6K BB). Dead small and all others out of the hand. Nearing points (which at PHCC means alot), and I know if you even have a marginal hand you will prob lay it down. What do you know, you wake up with Slick and I say "well done, have some chips!", only to suck out with the flush on the turn.

All is forgiven, but I'll still watch my back!!!
