Supposedly Team orders were that had to call a timeout before calling or pushing all in.
So still following the team letter.

Fair enough then, but still why walk all the way to the back of the studio then stand there laughin for a bit? Should have been "Aces? BACK IN THERE AND CALL SON!"
Also, how exactly does this timeout work? Doesnt this violate the 1 player to a hand rule? It wasnt clear from the video, but I was looking for some kind of referee to follow them and couldnt see (an obvious) one...
But from Brett's post, then what is the point in ordering a mandatory timeout rule for the team before the player goes allin if they cant discuss the hand?
Another implication of allowing such a timeout (albeit 1 per team per match) is it effectively allows them to avoid having the clock called on them (for 1 hand anyway), or atleast extends the time they can take?
I am struggling to find any reason the tournament organisers would have included this?
Can someone/anyone please provide a(ny) justification for timeouts in poker?
And speaking of getting punched out at the poker table, I met a player a few weeks ago who got punched out across the table for slow-playing his hand!! So yeah, maybe they were lucky this was televised!

The standard rules don't apply to a pure teams event. Each nation has a representative in there, and therefore are allowed to discuss the hand with the captain and other players.
As for the chuckle and laugh with the team mates. If he pushed all in without discussing with the captain first and went out, they have put themselves at a disadvantage.
Now what happens if his hand was AK, obviously played badly. What happens in later streets with different draws and stuff. He is doing the team line and obeying orders. Which right or wrong in this case has ended him slow rolling an opponent in the worse way possible.
So in general with these team events i believe 5 players per team, each player plays in a sit n go against 9 - 10 other countries. The time outs are there to discuss with your team to find out if it is the right move. Remember perception inside a game is a lot different to the perception outside. Points based on finishing positions on the table, then highest points win.
