Re: August Grand Final Discussion thread
Would anyone be interested in starting a private weekly online tournament for points? We can use private tournament feature on 888. If the entry fee is $25-$35, depending on runners we can get one or two seats. Say points awarded to top 5. The person/s with the most points at the end of the series gets the seat/s and any cash left over to be distributed among the rest.

why not just play in the Grand final tournaments on a weekly basis. $22 for a guaranteed ticket is great

I am sure I will be playing those too.
Having more than one tournament though achieves two things: first if you run bad you have time to make up for it, second it works out to a lot less than paying $22 every week when you can pay $35 once and play a 5 tournament series. So people who do not want to risk $22 on one game can risk a similar amount over a series of games and reduce the effect of luck in the short term.
As you can tell I am a very risk-averse person.

I do - 4th at the vic semi a couple of weeks ago.
Pumped that I don't have to fly anywhere
Good luck to everyone looking to earn a ticket still, and to those playing in the online champs again, will hopefully do better than a 2nd this time and ship a bracelet!!

Re: August Grand Final Discussion thread
Hi all,
I was lucky enough to win a seat on the weekend. I am going to find it tough as 96% of my poker is played online. I am not expecting to do really well but i want this grand final to be a learning curve for "future live events". I am wondering if anybody has some common tips to help calm the nerves. The one thing i have to realise is that i have to be patient compared to online. Other than that i cant wait!!

You both should be thanking me for bursting the bubble
Yeh I am looking forward to it too. Should be a cracking weekend. I'd imagine both of you got your $$$ in your account yesterday. I got no email though? (Hopefully not in my spam folder) Are you guys staying close to the venue? Baydon are you planning on staying in Melb?
