I think people have to remember, multipliers are NOT to attract players but to EVEN out the games.

That's it in a nut shell.

Not easy to balance the rewards for winning freeroll games with 100 runners V CBI games with 20.

It seems those who want to retain the freeroll pathway to the DT want to pay nothing yet have access to the benefits, its feasible that a player could play MM or AK and spend no money on rebuys, I have seen it night after night players playing marginal hanfds jam all in and hit a 1 outer to win doubling up, or if they loose dont rebuy.

Please Please will someone who thinks otherwise, show me where Full Tilt, Pokerstars, UB, PKR etc etc have similar games with similar pathways like the dream team. I doubt you can.

So why should 888pl support those freeloaders rather than the contributing player.

At the end of the day AK was only available to those who didnt work a normal job, or dont work at all. (apologies to the shift workers)
42.7 percent of all statistics are made up on the spot.

As much as I agree with you Gundog, just remember this league is a first of it's kind - with live/online components.

With all the talk of application of fiscal logic and elitism, i think this got lost in your message peter :D

There are of course pros and cons with any change in competition structure - some will like it and others will hate it. As as gundog said, people will vote with their feet.

The first couple of weeks will certainly be interesting to see numbers in particular games.

As Garth said, people wanted to play freerolls are NOT being excluded. There are still freeroll events on the schedule available to play, and there is still some reward for doing well in these. Of course people could always go to a live event for their dose of free poker if they so choose.

So i guess the whole debate is whether people who exclusively play online freerolls deserve to play at semi finals? My answer to that question is no.

Did you know that you need to play 10 Away games in a season to qualify for the Semi and/or Grand Finals? It is a new condition of the 888PL that players continue to support our venues to qualify for any of our Finals."

I haven't read the preceeding pages yet but have had some discussion and decisions have been made; so please excuse me if I do not answer any questions or statements that have been made since my last post.

1.) Right now the Home Game fixture is 90% complete. I will have to remove some GTD prize pools and limit the GTD tournaments in the daily fixture to 2.

2.1) Freerolls will have no points given to them and the bonuses will remain for final tabling and winning.
2.2) The winner of each freeroll will be be entered into a MONTHLY Grandfinal tournament; where one GF package valued at $1,000 will be up for grabs.

3.1) Regular Online games will never have a points multiplier attributed to them that is greater than the base multiplier for home games.
3.2) The base points for all regular away events will remain at 5x for season 3 but special events will be offered and all GF sats may have a 10x points multiplier attributed to them.

We just finished a conference in Mildura that saw all 888PL RM's and managers meet in the same room and discuss everything 888PL, this meeting went on for night on 8 hours; and I am very excited by a lot of the ideas we generated in this think tank and planning meeting.

There are many exciting events heading player's way as well as a revolutionary new live competition that will see us all view 888PL differently once more. For the first time in a long time I am once again energised and excited to make some changes to the 888PL.

Sounds good.

Looks like there'll be an incentive for everyone to win at least one freeroll a month.

awesome compromise Garth. Well done. :)
This post is compliant with anti-comedy policies of this forum. Although not hurt, 10 clowns were sent mad in the production of this post and will undergo group therapy whilst crammed into a very, very small car.

Sinitster wrote:I think a business should cater for ALL demagrafics of people !

I mean , i know it is not poker nor related in any way , but for eg. the local fish shop guy turns away a customer who wants $2 of chips because minimum is $4 , why would he ? A $2 sale is better that a $0 sale ! !

The customer you turn away has friends that won't come and so on and so on ! !

But how many times do you go to the fish and chip shop and get the same bag of chips for free

a sale is a sale, unless of course its provided for free then its not a sale its a service, and obviously the buisness has decided its not getting the returns it expects from this service
Does anyone know how to make money playing uno vs 6 year olds, its about the only card game i get to play these days.
