cougar, if you were really in if for the reasons brett mentioned, then you wouldnt be having this whinge - you would take it on the chin like most of us and accept that we just arent as important/good at poker as we think we are.

it sounds to me that even though you have been too busy to play regularly this season, because you are "the cougar", then you should get automatic entry into the finals because of your skill talent and the fact that you spend more than everyone else.

noone says oooo theres benny the cunt when i walk into a room, because i dont big-note myself and try to become a celebrity.

what brett said is EXACTLY why everyone should play poker - who cares about the state finals, they are just icing on the cake.

The Cougar wrote:I did not here one person mention Des or bennymacca all night.

wow, thats pretty self absorbed - maybe i should shout my name every time i enter the room.

The Cougar wrote:Des I am putting you in charge of this one- let's have a tournament for all those people that have never placed in the points. Total number of games required to qualify 1. No-one is allowed in with an average greater than 10. bennymacca you can send out the invitations. HOW MANY DO YOU THINK THERE WOULD BE?

how about we dont play cards at all? why not just give everyone a prize?

i bet these people would think your pity is patronising, and would rather learn and eventually be good enough to get into the points and prizes. or is this too much to ask? prizes for everyone!!!

hi guys i could have put this post in numerous threads on here but this seems to be active again so ill do it here. FUN!!!! people. thats what its all meant to be about, fun fun fun is what the npl is all about. Its meant to provide a social and enjoyable evening or afternoon whilst enjoying the game that we love. Lately it seems to have become more about who did this and how the system be changed etc. Please i ask all members of this forum and players of npl to remember what we hope to provide in the running of our games and league.

I can honestly say that i have the greatest job in the world, and that is due to the laughs iv'e had and the friendships i have formed with both staff members and players. So please lets all take a deep breath, think of a calm blue ocean and lets have fun.

Bruce... hardly any of the 7% actually contribute here... you'll find most of us actually are in the 93% group.

I always look forward to your replies... kinda like a box of chocoates, never know what you are gonna get.

Turkish Delights I hate !!! give me Hazel Nut Swirls or the Camamelo centred ones please.

reference to the 7% was to the contributors who have regular input on these threads. ---take away the seven most regular contributors on this forum you get 93 who in put a smaller relative number of posts ie a manority of the posts... in the top 100 contributors using this thread..

.. I. like Garth's % quotes ie 59% of the SA npl players play more than one venue a week....
also note that most regular forum presenters are either a venue leader or at least in a veune's top 5.... and are very proud and passionate about their ' game '

was alot better at Maths than Spelling or was that Reading . Riting and a Rithermatic ( Bob B. help needed plse ;)

I have stayed away from the forum for a while because of all the negative whinging and childish behaviour and having a look tonight just confirms my opinion.

In primary school, if a child couldn't go to sports practice or games each week ......... they can't play ...... and they certainly wouldn't get a prize for saying ' I want to play, I'm good, but don't have the time '

You can't possibly expect players that can't even commit to one regular game a week to be rewarded for this. We are all adults now and should act like it.

I finished 12th in Season 2 Finals but am doing absolutely lousy this season and probably won't even make the State Finals. I AM upset that I will miss out on the finals, but I can't blame anyone else for this. I will just try and get my game back next season and learn to play with lower cards better.

I still enjoy playing NPL even though my pocket Aces get beaten by someone hitting on the River. I still have friends I have made at NPL that give me a good greeting which I have never believed is from my poker ability. I am still glad that if I want to get out, there is always somewhere I can play NPL.

Be grateful that we now have the opportunity just to play FREE poker with all the added benefits. It wasn't all that long ago there wasn't any NPL (or others)

Being happy is a state of mind which we all have our own power over. Make the right choice.

Really? :D

Cougar, If you're so vehement in your arguments against the current running of the NPL on certain points, but, as you claim, love the game and want to see it improved, why haven't you lauded them for introducing 2 new venue timeslots, which effectively allows up to 10 people who have so far failed to qualify for state finals a chnace to easily do so?

Try again when you're not so self-absorbed, thinking you speak for everyone.

Gail's right on. Be grateful there's a place to play free poker with friends, and if there happens to be an added bonus like state finals, then great.
We've how about links I would like to know I walk the line scrunches line at how the client Lawrence etc. etc.

Matty Norwood, Gail and Tszyu are spot on.

NPL is a fantastic outlet to be socially active and make new friends
at the same time as improving your poker skills.

They're my reasons for playing and I've achieved both of those goals so far in my first 3 seasons thanks to NPL.

I support the venues I play at as much as I can, while remembering that it is FREE poker and any prizes or accolades that come my way are a BONUS. Looks like I'll qualify for my 2nd state finals this season (fingers crossed), but if I miss out it will be because I haven't played well enough.

If people are looking for an ego trip or infamy by referring to themselves in the 3rd person, then perhaps the pro tour is the place for them.

Id like to thank Gail Troy and Kosta for posting here. It's good to hear from people that usually dont post too often.

Thanks for the input and support.
